Just discovered paint bubbling up in two areas on the front edge of the hood , I remember my car on the lift with the hood open for oil change with lights on in the work area I waited almost 2hrs to have my oil changed wonder if paint damage happened at the dealer with hood left open on the lift with hot light from above. I don't know what to do?. I will post photos later

The paint bubbling is definitely not from the shop that did the oil change. All the service bays I've seen use fluorescent or LED lighting which don't create much heat, and the light fixtures are still at least 6 feet above the hood when the vehicle is fully elevated on the lift. It's probably just the aluminum corrosion that is common with these vans and should be covered by the paint/corrosion warranty.

Thanks so the dealer could do it under [paint/corrosion] warranty ?.. Or paint n body shop could do it.

No gouges on the hood lip just paint bubbling up
This is an extremely well documented and very common issue with these vans. If it’s anything like the issue Ford has, it’s from the prep chemicals used in preparing the hood before final painting. Not much you can do if dealer won’t fix it other than have it taken to a body shop and probably pay way too much to have the hood or other areas completely corrected

Well if your van is over 4 years old and you didn’t notice any paint issues prior , just starting , this looks like a hood that’s been neglected . The hood is a panel that’s on the high scale of viability and it’s been unnoticed until this degree , something isn’t right here .

This is a standard Pacifica issue covered under the 5 year Corrosion Warranty. Just had mine repaired under warranty with 1 week left until the warranty expired

If you can, find yourself a dealer with a body shop and get it taken care of immediately. They completed the work in 2 days.
Seems like dealers who have to outsource it don't want the hassle.

My dealer has to outsource their body work. They had no issues taking it in. I called and set up an appointment. When I went in they took pictures and sent them off to Chrysler for approval. This part took quite a while. Once i was approved the dealer called and said the body shop they use was backed up 3 weeks to get it in. (also just my luck happens to be my preferred local body shop). I show up at the dealer and they put me in a loaner vehicle (Jeep Cherokee) 2 weeks later, all done.

With a dark brown color it's very hard to see the lip I noticed it when adding windshield fluid when I opened the hood it felt bubbles under my fingers upon future inspection i saw the paint bubbling up the rest of the hood perfect but as you said dirty I travel all over the country delivering used highend audio & video gear that is sold & not trusted by UPS & Fedex.

The pictures are hard to see, for me. However, ours did the same thing. The paint started to bubble, and now is just beginning to chip. Ours is a 2017, purchased in 2018 and it is passed warranty. The bubbling started a couple of years ago, just on the front edge of the hood.

Contact your dealership for the in service date. If your covered bring it in they take photos and wait for Chrysler to approve the repair. If approved they will schedule the repair.

This is not a safety issue there will never be a recall
