New hybrid...

So I have a few apps on my display in my newly picked up car including Pandora that don't work. When I click them it says go to the Uconnect store to activate subscription. The thing is that the store says I already have the subscription.

So I called Uconnect and they said that all these apps that run through your phone are being discontinued. My car must be one of the lucky new ones that doesn't have via anymore. According to her they will all disappear eventually, does that sound right?

My 60-month via trial is useless then?

Is anyone else experiencing the same thing?

The 5 years is only for Sirius Traffic and Travel Link for navigation. Not satellite radio.

The available Uconnect® Theater features a dual-screen Entertainment System packed with built-in games and apps. Or, sync up your compatible devices for instant fun. And with the available Uconnect® 8.4 NAV, you get access to GPS Navigation as well as SiriusXM® Traffic and SiriusXM Travel Link, both with a five-year trial included. With these services you’ll get access to real-time traffic, weather updates, sports scores, fuel prices and more.

The uconnect app also works free for a year and then you have to pay. Uconnect® Access for Chrysler, Dodge, FIAT , Jeep & Ram

My husband's 2013 came with a year free of Sirius. I just added a 2 month free trial and had to reset his signal through the Sirius web page to get it to work.

The car doesn't have free WiFi. They have packages you can buy.

I know about the traffic and sat radio. They both work as expected, it is all the stream through phone apps that have never worked and according to Uconnect never will even if I paid more (since I already have that plan but the car does not support it).

So having messed around with my new Pacifica Hybrid, and UConnect Access from my phone, I can say that the experience is somewhat underwhelming, and parts fully disappointing.

I don't use Slack, or "Aha" (whatever that is), and when I do use Pandora, it's from my phone, not my car. But all of those applications that require internet appear to be entirely defunct, as though they're from an old version of UConnect and were accidentally included in the Pacifica Hybrid (which doesn't instill a lot of confidence in the vehicle). Playing with Pandora this morning, there doesn't actually appear to even open the app on the Pacifica Hybrid, it just refers you to log in first with UConnect Access from your phone first. However at least the Android app has no options to speak of, and definitely not a Pandora conduit.

Likewise, "SEND`N GO" appears to be missing from the Android app as well. Which is a little more annoying since the bulit-in GPS lacks the ability to search by voice by name of destination, only by address or POI type. Could someone with iOS chime in about whether or not their UConnect Access app has actual features?

I am really underwhelmed by the app, I can't use it to open the doors, turn on the seat warmer/ventilation, open the sun roof, or anything except remote start, remote lock, and remote panic. It also doesn't automatically push the state-of-charge of the battery, I have to pull that, enter my PIN, and wait a long while compared to my Leaf to get it to update. And once it does, that triggers a notification in the app, and a useless email which doesn't even include the SoC in the email. What it really should do, is show kWh consumed during each session, and email me -that- number, so I can actually track my mileage more accurately, especially when using cheap EVSEs like the one it comes with, or some groccery stores, which fail to report that number to the customer.

The minivan is pretty cool, and has a lot of tech, but UConnect is really poorly engineered, even though it could be so much more powerful.

Also Sirius sucks anyway. It keeps going in and out and is super distracting.
Really? I've had Sirius in my cars for 10 years and it is fantastic. I suppose if you spend a lot of time driving in tunnels, it will keep going in and out, but other than that it is so much better than anything else. I have not had any issues in our hybrid. I have not had the service go out once since we have had the van.

praeluceo, YES!

This is exactly what I was getting at, why have half of the apps on the cars screen not work. Not even open...ever. They are completely defunct, I can only hope that Chrysler is working on an update because the current feature set both in and out of the car is underwhelming.

It almost seems like the build with the hybrid controls is lagging way behind or that it has been given no thought. Can someone with a regular Pacifica weigh in as to if these apps work for you?

Praeluceo, I figured everything out.

So you can send addresses to your car, you just need to go to the "Location" portion of your UConnect App where it shows your cars location and search for places from there. Once you find a place you can send it to your car.

For the other apps like Pandora etc... that work with "Via Mobile" you can, in fact, get them to work, you just have to update your account on mopar.com first.

1. Go to mopar.com and login
2. Go to My Account
3. Go to "Uconnect Access" in the left bar
4. Click on "Download Uconnect® Access App" in the bottom left (I KNOW YOU ALREADY HAVE IT STILL DO IT)
5. You see where it says "Setup your via mobile apps" that is where you need to link pandora etc...
6. OK now that you have the app linked, go to your phone in the uconnect app
7. Press the Hamburger menu at the top left and look for the "Via mobile" settings, if you see them you can click and make sure you see pandora
7b. If you don't see them you will need to logout, and then log back in and they showed for me

YOUR DONE, in order to use these apps, once in the car open the uconnect app, this will allow the icons on the display to work.

We don't have tunnels here. I was in clear skies. Every time I have tried it keeps blinking and/or losing signal completely. At least it's still on a trial because I won't pay for this wonderful service.

That's a bummer for you. I'd recommend checking into that. One of the best things about Sirius is that you can drive across the country and never have to change the station. You don't have to search for a new FM station when you get out of range.

That's a great rundown thank you! Pretty convoluted though. I set up Pandora and Aha today, I'll test it out on my drive home this evening. Has anyone been able to get the wireless screen mirroring to work that's listed in the manual? Or to get their TPMS to show up in UConnect on their phone?
