Anyone applied for the PG&E clean fuel or any other similar rebate? I got denied by PG&E for the reason that PacHy is not qualified.
Who decides what qualifies? And what is the standard?
Then we might get denied by the Federal tax credit or state clean air vehicle rebate?
I bought the van because it's the cleanest car of it's kind...now they say it's not clean enough?
Thanks.

PG&E said they rely on air resources board for list of vehicles and our VIN on that lookup is showing it as a gas vehicle. I emailed Sam Wade at the air resources board about getting appropriate info to PG&E, since our vehicle is functionally an extra large Chevy Volt - which PG&E confirmed does qualify.

I would encourage you to call them and mention that your vehicle has a large battery, is a plug-in, and should qualify. The more of us calling should help get them to update their list.

me too. called them, they couldn't explain it, confirmed it should've been registered, promised to get back within a week.
One would think it might be wrong registration, as it happened before with California rebates, but i have permanent registration with MP='Q' not 'G', and it shows green sticker number on it which i also have, and I also have got an approval for California rebate. It would seem it is honest error on their part. There seems to be another denied person on FB (if it is not you :)

I phoned in to appeal, then someone emailed me denying my appeal. I replied to the email pointing out that this is a PHEV and it was granted and I got the check a few days later.
Thank you for your input.
I called again today, and got the same answer. I told the representative that someone else got the rebate. She said it might be a different model. Then I said it's exactly the same car. Then she said there's nothing can be done, or I could reapply or something. I told her that didn't make any sense and she's kind of speechless. I insisted on talking to her supervisor. At first she said there's nobody I can contact...no phone number or email. Wish I had the recording of our conversation. It was nerve wrecking and hilarious. I kept on cornering her and then she gave up and transferred me to her supervisor.
At first, she was using the same excuses saying that my car uses gas as well, and that is disqualified for the rebate. I gave her some examples like Volt, i3...which are qualified. She then said Pacifica is listed as ineligible. Finally, I told her if I could find my car on the list in the application form, it meant it's eligible. Then she did some work on the computer and talked to other people in the department. And she said there's a glitch in the system, and went ahead and approved my application. She was helpful and polite, but the system might not be really up-to-date.
Hope they really fix the glitch, and no PacHy owner gets denied again.
The Clean Vehicle Rebate from CA was much easier, they are more informed.

If you have PG&E for gas, I'm assuming you have SMUD for electric? They offer $599
In the area around Oakdale called the PG&E / MID expansion area, where you live depends on luck of the draw who you get your power from. Pacific Gas & Electric or Modesto Irrigation District. MID's been around since the 1880's and selling electricity since the 20's. MID has no electric vehicle rebates.:frown2:
