Phone Speed Dial Contacts - Keep Losing them

Ok, this may be my error so please forgive me.
I have added 5 contacts to the existing 5 speed dial locations on UConnect screen with my paired phone. Somehow the UConnect system is losing them and I have to set them up again. Then they will be there for a bit and then disappear. My phone is the only one paired to the van. Am I doing something wrong here? I have added them 3X so far.
Thanks, John

The speed dial is quicker - at least for me. Hopefully someone else will chime in too. Makes no sense to set them and then the UConnect keeps losing them. It is a handy feature that I want to use.
I am using a Samsung Galaxy phone too.

This is a known problem...I brought it up to my service dept. and they said there is a firmware update in the works that has a number of fixes for the UConnect system, this being one of them....Its not ready yet, but will be pushed to the systems remotely when it is

This is a known issue, but I think it might only affect Android phones because I haven't had it happen at all with my iPhone.

Hi everyone,

The Over the Air update, which has now been released via USB for download, should fix this issue. You can enter your VIN here to download the update: https://www.driveuconnect.com/support/software-update.html. If this doesn't help please send us a PM with your VIN and let me know!

On a somewhat related note, has anyone found a way to stop the console from having to update the phone's address book EVERY TIME you start the vehicle?? My vehicle takes 5+ minutes every time doing this update, which doesn't allow me to use the verbal command to make a phone call until it's finished. I have a 2017 Touring L that I purchased May 2018 with the 5" console screen.

Loses 5 preset phone memories

My 2017 L (when it was new) worked ok till it did an update and the screen died. So now that replacement radio/screen and one more replacement always loses the 5 memory phone numbers within 3 days. Tried it with my android and two iPhones, the phone type isn't the issue. Once the 5 numbers are programed, they should be permanently in memory. The phones always link and accesses my contacts ok, and does voice commands/dials ok. This just appears to be faulty memory/circuitry that holds the 5 numbers. Don't know why it would be programmed to erase the numbers. I bet these units are pulled and benched test for a couple of days and put back into circulation which is crock to folks like me, cause it will work for a couple of days, but not a week. I am going to bring it up again with two factory recalls next week - it needs a "NEW" working unit. Next issue - what will happen when the 3 years warranty is out?

Did this ever get resolved? I have brought my 2017 in twice with the same issue and as of April 2020 still is not resolved and my factory warranty is up June 2020.

Loses 5 preset phone memories

A LITTLE LATER ON - Loses 5 preset memories. Took it back in, they had me reset the memories, within a week - the phone memories disappeared. Took it back, they did a firmware upgrade and now the memories have held for a few months & I think my problem is fixed. Moral of the story - don't know. You can't watch them work on the car - so you don't know if they previously swapped the radio/screen, or did a NPF (no prob. found) & hoped I'd go away. Did they install a re-circulated NPF that had the same problem, or did they really come up with a firmware update that fixed the problem, or did they put a new radio in? I hope the software update was the fix & hope it stays fixed. I've had the car a little over two years and really happy with it. It has a curvy spaceship look, like the seats folding down flat, & the fact that it has a knob for the fan speed and radio volume - some other brands need to do a slide bar on the screen and that's an aggravation when you're driving.

Did you check the post above yours? Ray-UK had a firmware update that resolved the issue for him.

Try getting to your dealer before the end of the warranty. And if you had reported this and had a dealer look at it recently, they should be able to continue the file even after the expiry of warranty. Especially given the Covid pandemic.
