Had a weird issue spout up on me that's got me stumped so hoping the community here can help. Lately the alarm chime when opening/closing the sliding doors & rear liftgate quit working. The setting is checked in the Uconnect settings and the turn signal lights flash, but for some reason the darn thing won't beep when operating them. I've scoured the owners manual for some help but can't seem to find anything in there aside from the Uconnect settings. Anyone else run into this problem?

Edit: Ok, so it seems that for the sliders that there will only be a chime when the door is obstructed or reversed and that seems to work fine. I'm still perplexed with the rear liftgate alert. I've tried it with the Uconnect option both selected and unselected and both times it is silent when opening/closing. It's not affecting the function of the liftgate so maybe it'll just have to wait until I get it in for its first oil change to ask the service advisor. Just wondering if anyone else came across a similar issue and if so, how they resolved it.

I will be curious how it is resolved. I would rather have the option to remove all chimes etc especially when the kiddos are sleeping and we need to move them or get into other areas of the vehicle.

I'm having this issue with the liftgate as well. I found that it failed at the same time the liftgate button had intermittent issues. The dealer found a dead part that they had trouble identifying (had to send a pic to Chrysler). That was almost a month ago and still no ETA on the replacement part.

I also had this issue randomly happen as well. I also assumed that the door was supposed to make noise when opening or closing, but found out it is as stated above. When we took our Pacifica in for this issue to the dealer, they fixed the issue. Now I am not quite sure exactly what was done to fix it because it is still in the shop at the dealership, but I do know it has been resolved and when I get it back I will update!

Liftgate Chime

I started having the exact same issue. Intermittent issues operating rear lift gate and chime no longer working even though option is enabled. I will check with the service department when dropping off for its first oil change soon.

Well, I took the van in for it's 1st oil change and mentioned the liftgate chime not working. They too found the rear chime not to be working and ordered a new one. Should have it in about a week so hopefully that will resolve it. Other than that I'm still loving this van and impressed with the MPGs I've been seeing on it. The wife thought the heated steering wheel was gimmicky when we bought it but now that it's getting colder she's really enjoying it, and the kids are making use of the rear heated seats too.

Same issue here. I should have waited for the 2017 Honda Oddisey. Chrysler as per our recent quality problems is still having quality control issues. My Pacifica is less than a month old and is already having technical problems.

Hi hawkfan,
I am happy to hear you are enjoying your Pacifica. Please feel free to keep me updated about the liftgate chime repair, I would be happy to follow up if needed.

If you haven't figured out how to remove liftgate chimes yet, look under "U 3G apps" on the main screen on the touchscreen, then "settings" which is on the second page of choices, then choose "Doors and Locks". (I have a Touring L with an 8.4 touchscreen and that is where I found it.) The liftgate chime is referred to as an "alert" and can be turned off or on. For some reason, it was difficult for me to figure out how to change sounds using the manuals. (It may have been a software update issue since I didn't find it the first time I explored the settings.) I wasn't having a problem, I just didn't like the noise. I also changed the horn sound on locking doors to the second input option.

I don't like having the chime completely turned off because sometimes I don't hit the button quite hard enough, so it doesn't start closing. Standing under it to see if it starts closing or not with no chime is a little unnerving. However, the chime is way too loud. I wish there was a volume control.

I just found I am having this issue from yesterday. The tail gate chime doesn't sound anymore and changing the Uconnect setup does not help. Anyone had fixed this? Is this a hardware issue or software issue?

Add me to the list. My liftgate chime has suddenly stopped working even though it's turned on. I guess a trip to the dealer is in order.

I've had my van for 2.5 weeks, putting all of 800 miles on it, and now my chimes aren't working either. It is a bit ridiculous that I will have to take it in for warranty work before I've even made my first payment on it.

At least it's a known issue with an easy fix. Ask your dealer if they can order the chime before you bring it in so that you don't have to wait for them to order one and make another trip.

Try disconnecting and re connecting the battery.

That doesn't work. It's a known issue with the chime itself. The fix is to have the chime replaced.

how did you change the sound?- the lift gate and door chimes broke - the dealer fixed the lift gate but the doors only beep now they don't "chime" or alert like they did before. all phone calls telling me the sliding doors aren't supposed to chime, but I know they did.

If the door chime is turned on, it will only make noise if they hit resistance and reverse direction.

actually it does make noise when you use the hands free open but its not the same alert sound it made before. it used to make the same noise as the lift gate alert. but you are telling me the same story I get from the service dept and customer service. I guess its not going to get fixed. I'm afraid we've made a mistake buying our first Chrysler product. They've already replaced the transmission at 3000 miles. I shudder to think what's ahead for us.
