The repair was done today. Very easy - less than an hour and the chime is back working - both opening and closing!

My lift gate buzzer just went out yesterday, you have to put your ear right up to the buzzer to hear it.I'm currently waiting for a new glove box to fix my light that is always on. I will call them to see if they can order a new buzzer and hopefully get both things done at the same time.

I will be curious how it is resolved. I would rather have the option to remove all chimes etc especially when the kiddos are sleeping and we need to move them or get into other areas of the vehicle.
If the kiddos are sleeping, I would completely avoid the power options and open/ close the door / tailgate manually.

Did they provide any part number that was replaced....? Just in case it might help the customers visiting the (not so smart) dealerships.

I didn’t realize it wouldn’t beep if done manually. So just to be clear if you exit the vehicle and press the trunk release ON The trunk or hit the button on the sliding doors you get no alerts/tones?

I don't have my Pacifica minivan yet. But in other cars I have only the electric button operated tailgate function makes a noise. If I use the tailgate handle to open it it doesn't make any noise. Someone who has the Pacifica now can explain a bit more. Thanks.

My chime just went also. It is a safety issue if you are used to it and press the button to close and expect it to chime. I pressed it and thought I didn't press it right because I didn't hear the chime and barely got out of the way of it coming down.

This us unacceptable that there is no TSB or a fix for this before new cars leave the dealer. I just bought a 2018 limited this week and the buzzer doesnt work, all settings in uconnect are set to on. Now I have to inconvenience myself to visit the dealer 2x, once for diagnosis and part order, once more for a fix. I've spent enough time at the dealer buying my $40k minivan, and to have them not replace a $3 buzzer before sale is terrible.

In my case the chime worked for a couple weeks after purchase then just died. What was the dealer supposed to do pre-delivery to handle this? Yes, it's annoying to have to make a couple trips back to get this fixed, but I fail to see what you expect the dealer to do pre-delivery to address this, especially if it's working while on the lot.

Our lift gate chime has been out of commission for several months. At first we thought it was a software glitch since its failure coincided with a shop repair and software update (done at dealer). Yesterday I downloaded an April 2018 update from UConnect site and updated. No fix.

Third time I've almost been crunched in the head by the noiseless lift gate, so want to get it fixed. (I, too, think it's too loud, but better than nothing)

Called dealer today, asking them to pre-order chime replacement. Didn't really expect it to go over and, of course, dealer had never heard of the problem.

Just PM'd Kori from Chrysler Cares and asked for a little assistance with educating dealer. I'll post what happens - and see if I can provide a part number for the chime (everyone else on here failed to do this simple request - c'mon, folks!).

Sure wish Chrysler would issue a simple TSB so I could reference that to the dealer! What's the deal with that, Kori?

Chryslercares wont help you with this, i tried already, they have no interest in calling my dealer for me to have the part preordered saving the client multiple trips.
they offered to help me if i went to the dealer, dealer refused to address the problem, then chryslercares would step in.

You're right, LightAdjust2000. Chryslercares PM'd back (24 hours after my PM to them) saying exactly what you said. They made no comment about my request as to why they won't assign a TSB to it. . .

This morning, wife went to dealer for oil change and have the chimer looked at. Guess what? They verified it didn't work! :surprise:

Good news is they had one in stock (said they had seen this problem on one other Pac) and were able to install while she waited. Took about 2 hours (with the oil change). Replaced free under warranty.

Part number for the chimer is "55364517AB : Chime : Warning"

Been kept happy with Allen Samuels Chrysler as we approach our 2-year owner-anniversary.

PS - They charged $9 to change oil - I brought my oil and filter to them. Nice!

Liftgate Chime

I started having the exact same issue. Intermittent issues operating rear lift gate and chime no longer working even though option is enabled. I will check with the service department when dropping off for its first oil change soon.
For those of you that have had the chimes replaced, look carefully at the huge interior panel that has to be removed to access the chime model. The idiot/ crook that replaced mine cracked the panel and SAID NOTHING. Sent me on my way and obviously hoped I would not see it. Cracked just above the rear power seat switches (limited) Miller Motors, Burlington, Wisconsin.

Just had this happen as well. Scheduled service appointment, so we'll see how it goes. My biggest concern is that we are at 35,500 mi and what else is going to be an issue with this vehicle after we go out of warranty? I've never owned a vehicle with so many issues before and I wonder what Chrysler's willingness is to cover known issues after the 36,000 mi point. The one time something like that happened to my VW, they had no qualms fixing it for free. I'm guessing that's not normal...

Has anyone tried swapping this on their own? I think I'll just do it myself. It's not worth the hassle of two trips to the dealership, especially as this is our only vehicle, for a $4-10 part.

I can only speak for gas models. It’s behind the large panel that runs on the right side from the tailgate to the front of the sliding door. That’s a huge piece of plastic. The moral of the story here, is that if you get yours replaced, make sure when you pick it up, you look at that panel. I have a limited so the third row power seat switches are close to the top of that panel. The idiot that did mine cracked the panel and then SAID NOTHING. I took the car home and noticed it on my own several weeks later. I took the car back to where the repair was done, and they replaced the panel WITHOUT EVER APOLOGIZING FOR THE MULTIPLE EXTRA TRIPS I HAD TO MAKE. What they didn’t know was that I have been a warranty administrator for dealerships for 20 years. When I got a survey for this repair, I knew that they had submitted a warranty claim. A claim for something they broke repairing is WARRANTY FRAUD.
