Is any dealer taking pre-orders? A 5 to 7K discount on current gas-only models seems to be a reasonable deal, wondering if there will be any price negotiation on the hybrids since those are likely to sell like pancakes as soon as they hit the door...

Chrysler has said that the order banks will open sometime in December with a "slow ramp up" in production. My guess is that means you'll be able to order one soon, but with an extended lead time before delivery. I've also read that only the Platinum trim will be available at first. The Premium trim won't be available until the middle of next year. I'm not sure many people will go for the Premium anyway considering how much more you get with the Platinum for $3k more.

I doubt we'll see any incentives until Chrysler sees how well they sell without them. Plus they've got a built-in $7500 incentive that doesn't cost them anything.

I am not counting on manufacturer incentives but was just wondering how much room there is to wiggle with the dealer's invoice.
That's all going to depend on how well they sell. If the dealer can't keep them in stock, they likely won't have to come down in price at all. Some dealers have even been known to "market adjust" the MSRP up on certain vehicles that are in high demand. Time will tell.

What I've seen before is basically an extra paper next to the normal options and MSRP paper. And on there it's basically 3 lines, the MSRP, a line that says something like "dealer adjustment" and then finally "Sale price:" with the sum of those two.
It's basically just a sales tactic to increase the starting point for the negotiations.
And it probably works... (Or at least the dealership management thinks it works)

Hello everyone,

Just joined the forum and excited to see the Pacifica Hybrid hit the showroom floor early next year. I leased one of the first 1000 Volts in 2011 and then bought another in 2012. My dad followed with his own purchase of a Volt in 2013. We've loved our Volts (which have been absolutely bullet proof by the way) and can't wait to see the EREV concept applied to a family vehicle. I use mine for my roughly 20 mile r/t commute and have only used 50 gallons of gas in more than 4 years! Kudos to Chrysler for filling an unmet need in the market - an electric hybrid vehicle capable of carrying 7 people AND their cargo. Saw it up close at the SF Auto Show and looks fantastic.

One question for the more familiar on this forum - are there any dealers out there who have appear to have taken a real interest in promoting the Pacifica Hybrid? With the Volt, there are two dealers in SoCal and two dealers in NorCal that really promote the heck out of the Volt - own tabs on dealer website, promotion on Volt forums, and aggressive pricing in order to move volume. Hoping a few Chrysler dealers may see this as an opportunity to lure new buyers into their showrooms that otherwise might have passed right on by to another store.

Cheers!

Hi volt779. Welcome to the forum! I haven't seen any dealers heavily promoting the hybrid, but that may just be because it hasn't been available yet. At it's price point, I would think that a lot of dealers will be pushing it hard once it's available.

Seems like all the auto mags are loving the hybrid. It will definitely be on the list when we get our next van. I agree that any incentives will remain to be seen depending on how the hybrid sells. Still, some skillful negotiation at a willing dealer can get you to an acceptable price point.
