About to order a Pacifica and torn between 7 vs 8 passenger setup. For anyone who has the 8 passenger seating, are the two outside seats still "Captain" style and when the middle seat is removed do the two outside seats still have a left and right armrest as though the middle seat never existed?

Going to the dealership tomorrow and don't know if they have any 8 seaters to look at.

Many thanks!

Haven't pulled the trigger on one yet, but no, it loses the captain chair armrests on the inside. The center seat folds down and acts as the armrest when not in use. It was something of an 8 passenger deal breaker for me as I only want the center seat in the van for the rare times that I would need it. I don't more than 7 people in my car anyway :grin2:

We have the 8-passenger Limited, and overall we're very happy with it. It's nice to know that the middle 2nd-row seat is removable if we want more space, though we've never actually done that.

The 2nd row outboard seats lose the inner armrests (though they still have the outer armrests), but when you aren't using car seats the folded middle-seat becomes a fairly comfy cup holder and center armrests, so it's really a very comfy ride in the 2nd row for two passengers not using car seats.

I can confirm that the 8th seat has both the rear tether and the lower LATCHes, and on many road trips we've fitted three car seats side by side on the 2nd row. The kids were delighted to be together and to all be able to watch those awesome UConnect screens (the system can be annoying but the screens are awesome quality!).

The big loss is that panoramic roof on the Limited, but we're overall very happy with that compromise.

As the others have said, you lose the inboard armrests. But that actually gives a little more room to climb through the middle to the 3rd row when the 8th seat is not installed.

My original plan was to leave the 8th seat in the garage and only install it when we needed it. But my 3 kids actually prefer all sitting in the 2nd row when we're just driving around town. When there's only 1 or 2 kids in the car, the 8th seatback is folded, so they get an armrest and cup holders. When the 3rd kid is with us, they unfold the seatback and all sit in the 2nd row. On longer trips, the 8th seatback stays folded and one of the kids sits in the 3rd row for more room. Having the 8th seat really is quite versatile, and I didn't care about the sunroof anyway.

The 8-seat Pacifica offers the utmost in configuration flexibility. I have driven our Pacifica with the middle seat out, the middle seat in with the right 2nd Row Stow N Go stowed and also most typically with both 2nd Row Stow N Go seats up and the middle seat in but folded. This last position offers inside 2nd Row Seat armrests via the folded middle seat. Passengers have noted this is their favorite configuration. The sun roof delete presents no problem as we have had about five vehicles in a row with a sunroof and not ever used or appreciated it. (One less window to clean) When I drive five girls to dance class along with their large dance backpacks they like the 3rd Row up, the 2nd Row with right Stow N Go Seat in the stowed position, and the middle seat available for use along with the other 2nd Row Stow N Go seat. This puts two dancers and their gear in the 3rd Row, two in the 2nd Row and one in the right-side front row seat. Having had two Honda Odyssey vans with 8 seats prior to the Pacifica the 8th seat was a must.

I love my eight seater and so do my second row passengers. When the middle seat is folded down it’s almost like being in a limo it so roomy and comfy back there.

Same here. That’s exactly how I keep my seating configuration during daily commutes. Middle seat up and passenger side outboard seat stowed in. We are seven at present and on most other trips we use all seats up (two kids in back and baby in center). On really long trips we keep the center seat in garage to maximize the interior space and use the stow and go space for storage/ food / drinks as well. I have found the 8 passenger version in Pacifica to be the most versatile of any other options available in all minivans combined.

Yes. CSO Radio in Lakewood, NJ specializes in doing these mods.
They have a legal jump seat that attaches safely to the body of the vehicle using the existing OEM hardware.

The really annoying thing is he hasn’t even posted any good information. I mean if you’re going to shill for a company at least give us some pictures, diagrams, details on attachment points, ease of removal, etc.

No one is going to reach out to some random company without any details.

Details and pictures to come.

Sorry for posting so many times.
My thinking was that the other threads would not see their question answered on a different thread.

I managed to delete one but the others I did not see the edit option.
