I recently tried to engage my Active Park Assist by pushing the button on the dash and nothing happened. I checked my owner's manual and confirmed that I was following the rules (e.g., Transmission in Drive, driving under 15 mph, etc.).

To troubleshoot, I pushed the other buttons on the switch panel. The ParkSense LED lit for about two seconds and turned off--meaning ParkSense IS activated--which, I think, means that button is also malfunctioning. Both the LaneSense and ESC buttons remained illuminated--meaning feature is OFF--which, I think, is proper operation. I also checked the fuse which is fine.

Since I use this option mostly as a party trick, I'm looking for confirmation that this feature isn't working in my car vs. I'm doing something wrong or need to change a setting.

Sounds like yours isn't functioning properly. You should see Park Assist scanning for a spot in the EVIC when you hit the button.

The park assist button on my car was "sticky". It would not return after pushing it and I noticed a similar experience to you. I had to push it a bunch of times to make it not stick and now it works as expected. Granted I've only tested it in my neighborhood and never used it for real parking.

My button depresses and returns to the regular position but the light never comes on and I don't see the instructions in the display. Certainly not a showstopper but I'll take my car in and see what the dealer says.

Park Assist fixed

To close the loop, I took my car in for its first service (oil change @ 8,500 miles) and the Service Department fixed my Park Assist with a software flash. Also, for inquiring minds, my oil change cost $96.00 including parts, labor, and tax.

I'm having the same problem with the
Park Assist Switch (The button with "P", Steering Wheel Icon, & word "ON"). It will not illuminate the blue LED light when pressed. So I cannot engage the Park Assist function of the vehicle due to this problem. Guess I will take mine in for the same repair you described. Thanks for sharing your experience.

Are you out of the warranty? What software update are you talking about?
I am out of warranty. There was a recent update that came out over the radio. The dealership told me they’ve received several complaints from people who have had things stop working after the update. I believe they followed a procedure where they pulled the fuse for the radio, let the vehicle sit for 30 minutes, replaced the fuse, did two key on cycles, and then started the vehicle. It worked and not my parking assist and parking sensor buttons work again.
