Radio / Lights Staying On

Two times today we shut off our Limited and the engine stopped, however; the radio stayed on as did the interior and running lights.

Started it back up and shut it off a few times and they still stayed on.

We started it up again, drove for 30 minutes and when we stopped again, everything shut off just fine.

A DVD had been playing (but when the grandbabies fell asleep I took it out :wink2:) - not sure if taking it out mid-movie and while the van was on made a difference ... hopefully it was just a one time glitch!

Did you open your door? You can set the radio/lights to stay on for a period after you turn off the ignition and before you open the door. Once you open the door everything turns off.

Yes - opened and closed it multiple times ---- we were out of the van for about 25 minutes and when we came back everything was still on - except the engine which turned off right away.
Possible that you could have inadvertently re-engaged "non-start/accessory" mode when you shut off the van?
No - it's wasn't in the accessory mode - the push start area had the word "off" lit up - and both my husband and I turned it on and off several times (and opened the door) with no luck.

Hi JillWill,

In your Uconnect settings there should be an option related to Power Accessory Delay which controls how long power accessories stay on after the vehicle is turned off. I'd recommend checking to see if that setting accidentally got changed to a longer period of time!

Thank you - It hasn't happened again ... so I don't think anything was changed - hoping it won't happen again
The same thing or similar is randomly happening to my Pacifica. The dashboard will stay illuminated for a while after exiting. Very odd!
This is happening to me right now. When I hit the power button for radio it asks me if I want to continue my call on my mobile phone only I’m not making phone call. Did you find a solution? I can’t leave it like this overnight. I’m about ready to disconnect the battery

Have all the software updates been done to your van?

You need to tell us more about your Pacifica, all the model details and build date.
I know this is an older thread, but I'm having the same issue with the radio and display staying on after turning of the engine and exiting the van. You can cone back 30 minutes later and they are still on. Accessories is not on and the van is off. Settings is not the culprit either. Anyone ever find the issue causing this?

This not normal and the needs to be corrected by the dealership. Make an appointment with them specifically for this problem and involve @ChryslerCares if need be.

Is this something that just started happening in a van you've had awhile or is it a new van?
Do the interior lights stay on?
Check the roller switch on the left side of the steering wheel to see if that makes a difference.
Does it make a difference if you lock the van?
When my van was new it seemed like the dash lights stayed on longer than expected. They seem to go off more quickly now since I've had many updates for various things in the three years of owning the van. Have you checked the UConnect website to see if there are any updates for your van?
I agree with @Bond007 that a dealer visit would make sense.
If you put your van info (year, trim, gas/hybrid, etc.) in the signature line it will show up at the bottom of your posts.

This happened on my '19 wrangler (basically the same electronics as the pacifica) a few months ago during a road trip - after driving for 2 hours, and using the phone, the stereo (I have the 7 inch) wouldn't shut off. I was getting the error about continuing a phone call, disconnected my phone from bluetooth, tried several other things. I finally pulled the fuse for the stereo, let it sit a few minutes, then put it back in and it has worked fine ever since ;)
Hello.. this has happened to me twice so far. I recently purchased a used 2018 Pacifica it has 36000 miles and I have had the actuator air inlet replaced which caused a terrible noise in the front dash and now this. My dashboard lights along with radio will not turn off after turning car off and opening driver door. I read in another forum that the issue is with the radio and that something malfunctioning in the radio forces the car to continue to stay awake mode even after it should turn off. My car stayed on for 2 hrs before it finally shut off.

This has happened to me in my 2018 Pacifica a few times. Everytime it happened, I was using something on my phone through the usb like a phone call or using an audiobook file. It seems that it happened if I turned off the car before ending the call or disconnecting the book. Even if it hands off the call to my phone, the radio starts and doesn’t turn off. I’ve tried restarting, locking/unlocking, remote start on/off, backing the car up and repacking.. nothing Worked to make it turn off other than forcing it to forget my Phone. Very annoying for sure.

Yup, forgot to add that in my experience with my Jeep, I used my phone on that trip while it was plugged in (iphone). The radio kept telling me it couldn't shut off during a call, even though there was no call and I even disconnected the phone from bluetooth
I know this is an old thread, but this was happening to me when the secondary battery was going dead. Now that I have replaced that, I haven’t had this issue anymore.
