So I drove my little one to daycare this morning and when i got back in the van and turned it on I got a ding and on the gauge cluster screen it said Rain Sensing Wipers Service needed and the wipers started wiping, intermittently. I thought maybe there was bird poop or something covering the sensor so i ran the washer fluid and wipers for a few seconds to try to wash away whatever it might have been. But the wipers kept going....and going....and going. Finally I went into the settings on the 8.4 screen and turned off the rain sensing wipers. I then also noticed that my dome lights were on. The ones near the buttons on the roof to open the doors and such. Pressing each button once didn't seem to do anything, but a few more pushes and the lights finally went off. I turned the rain sensing wiper option back on to see if whatever it was fixed itself. Nope. Got the ding, the message and the wipers starting going again. Left the rain sensing wiper option on the 8.4 on and turned the wiper stalk to off. A few mins later i decided to try it again and I turned the wiper stalk back on. Got an very abbreviated ding, no message and the wipers didn't run. Everything seems to be ok now i guess since i didn't have any rain to test the sensor, but they weren't running on their own.

I've noticed that I get really weird behavior like this, but it always seems to go away. I've had 1 of my 2 seat memories be 'forgotten' once. A few times my GPS didn't move with the car and seemed just frozen or it moves but its really off from where I actually am. A couple times I've lost my preset satellite radio stations. Once I couldn't change the satellite radio station no matter what I did. I could change the source to the AM and FM and those worked fine, but couldn't change the satellite radio station it was on. Starting to wonder if I got an electrical lemon.

The problem with these issues is that the dealer really can't diagnose or do anything about them unless they are actively occurring and since these seem to happen at random and for differing lengths of time I need the stars to align in order to have something done about them.

First step would be to take a video with your phone when the issues occur so you have documentation and something to show the service dept. You also want to get the issues documented with the service dept so if they extend past the warranty period you have a chance of getting any repairs covered.

I just had this happen to me. Wipers can on, message to service wiper, and done lights were stuck on temporarily.

Did you get a resolution to this issue?
Thanks
