Today is day 3 of driving our Limited - the first day I heard a slight rattle and thought it was the 3rd row passenger side seat belt - because it wasn't under the clip to keep it from hitting the side of the van - however; today I heard the rattle again - it was constant - coming from the passenger side rear (not sure how far back) ... louder than day 1.

I will have to wait until hubs is driving in hopes of figuring out exactly where it is coming from ... it is NOT a pleasant sound whatsoever ... my stomach hurts thinking about it ... the Q5 I traded had issues and I was really hoping I wouldn't have to deal with noise again!! :frown2:

Late yesterday afternoon I adjusted and re-adjusted just about everything I could think of and took a little drive and still heard the sound - then asked a co-worker to ride in the back to see if they could hear where it was coming from. With them sitting in the back, the noise disappeared. They jumped from seat to seat and there was still no noise. No noise going home from work yesterday and still nice and quiet today!!

Maybe something wasn't quite clicked in properly with the seat ... at any rate, I'm happy and hopeful it won't happen again!!!

Good news. Yea, maybe someone just had to sit in the seats to seat them, lol. The Pac always amazes me in the tightness and solidness of its body. I didn't think it could be done no a minivan!

I had/have the same problem. Rattle noise was coming from the third row single seat on the passenger side. All the second row seats were stowed.

So I had a friend sit in the target third row seat and the nose has disappeared.

You can actually see it from the drivers position in the rear-view mirror. When the head rests in the third row seat starts to vibrate then the rattling noise

will show up. Funny, even when all the seats are stowed, you can still hear the rattle although a little muffled.

Could be any one of the moving mechanisms in that seat since it's an electric stow, remote head rest release, or the floor panels.

Chrysler uses the exact same setup in my Chrysler 2012 Town and Country (except for the remote head rest release), and it's quiet..... go figure.

Limited bought April 13, 2017.

My rattle was ONLY when the outside temperature was 90+ degrees and it had been sitting in the sun.
Long story short, I found this thread on this forum from BigJoe120....

I just leased a Limited with the same problem. It was evident the first day I drove home. After numerous attempts to resolve the problem and a week at the dealer's service center, they discovered the problem was the bolts holding the rear (third sunroof).
After tightening the bolts 3 times they found it was quiet when at normal temps. As stated, when the temp. went up, the rattle came back each time.
I think they have finally resolved the problem.
They installed nylon washers between the roof and the mountings. This stopped the problem.

I had them run a second test drive after the car sat in the hot Florida sun for 5 hours. When I drove it home Friday, in the heat, no noise.

I hope it is finally resolved. Go luck, the noise is nerve wracking. I was ready to return the car and/or file a lemon law claim.
Joe

Back to me RJB:
After 3 under warranty attempts with their response "We hear the noise BUT we do not know what to do."
I sent my dealer the above thread from BigJoe120 and low & behold they immediately ordered the nylon washers, installed them and so far 🤞 the rattle (popping) has NOT come back.
This may not be your problem/solution but it was to mine.
