The only way we have figured out to reliably play content on the back screens is to cue it from the back screens. We run a stereo headphone cable from the output on the left rear screen into the aux input on the front console. We then mirror the right screen to the left screen while loading the kids and then cue up a video for the trip. Thing is, you have to cue something longer than you trip because once the video ends, trying to cue something new from the front seat usually fails.

This is a very dangerous situation. We just did a road trip and my wife ended up unbuckling and half climbed into the back to cue up something for the girls to watch. Not the smartest of moves but when you are on the I5 Grapevine with no real place to pull over and kids crying it is what happens.

We also now have a new issue that has cropped up. We get a warning saying the remote couldn't be found. We have to wait for this to popup while loading the kids and remember to clear it to before we climb into the front seat as starting any content from the front seat will not cause this message to go away.

I like the car, it really is great for our family but this "entertainment" system is a pathetic joke. It's like Chrysler engineers didn't have anyone with little kids to do their testing on. It's not like these are small bugs that would be difficult to find. These are major freaking bugs that make the system unusable for their target market.

I'm constantly apologizing to my frustrated wife and trying to figure out these problems and come up with workaround. [snip] As it stands now, it is the single greatest frustration of our daily routine when getting in the car to go somewhere.
I feel for ya, you're describing the fate I'm trying to avoid right here. @ChryslerCares hope you can send this feedback to the right User Experience/Product Management point of contact. Seems like someone at Chrysler forgot that spouse/family/user acceptance is critical for a successful product launch. I was in the situation where one but not both screen seems to be working, amid a bunch of other bugs. I was able to get the Right TV working after factory resetting. This is the 9th time I've factory reset this Fire TV having owned the van for less than 3 weeks. I wonder if the lemon laws cover this type of thing.

Check to see if your car has the latest update. One got pushed to my car a couple of weeks ago and at least now the front screen will eventually connect to the rear screens. I cannot confirm the update had anything to do with fixing connecting to the rear screens but since that got pushed, it definitely seems to be more consistent. Whereas before it wouldn't connect at all, now it will connect within a minute or two of starting the car but sometimes longer.

Also, avoid using the remote start or accessory mode with the car as cycling from either of those modes to "run" seems to power cycle the rear screens and causes issues connecting again. Best thing to do is to just turn the car to "run", load the kids and then by the time they are buckled in, the front screen should have connected to the rear screens.

All the other bugs and annoyances still persist but at least there is the ability to do some control from the front in this manner.

After suffering through the same issue for a few weeks of not being able to use the rear screens at all. I took it to our local dealer and they were able to hard reset, they updated the fire TVs as well. Turns out the power plug for the rear TV sets is under the front passenger seat. Really the only way to do a hard reset. The car has two car batteries (which I wasn’t aware of) and disconnecting the one main one on the driver side wouldn’t of did a hard reset.

Once he got them running again he updated the fire TVs and everything has been mostly working. The worst issue is the usb stick sometimes shows every movie on it, and then switched to “empty” before coming back at the top of the movie/file list a few seconds later. Frustrating but par for the course with the uconnect theater system.

I hope this helps someone looking to fix the problems they’ve run into.

It’s very frustrating to have such a half baked system released, especially when there isn’t proper support from dealers.

I had the same issue w "cannot view on front seat displays". First time it popped up after about a week or two of it working properly. I messed with the lumbar and slid the seat forward as well. I also switched driver profile from my wife's to mine. Now it works. Go figure. Recommend at least trying this below.
Humor me here. Mess around with your driver's side lumbar support a bit (the rounded button on the left side of the seat base), then check the screen views again. This morning I was playing around with the lumbar settings on my seat during school dropoff. It occurred to me that the lumbar power & media hub are on the same fuse (that's the only reason I made the connection). I immediately checked the rear screen view on the main display and I could see them! I could also interact and listen to them. EDIT I just remembered, I also shifted the power seat forward and back a bit. If there's a wiring harness at play underneath the seat, that could be another possibility. Try the lumbar first, check the screen views. If they aren't back, try moving the seat forward/back and check again. This absolutely could be a coincidence, and it may not last, but I'm curious if others may have similar results.

I just took delivery of a brand new ‘22 Pinnacle in mid-December and just hit this problem. I factory reset both FireTVs and it worked for a little bit and then the problem started again. I tried resetting the head unit with no luck.

Did this get fixed for others via a UConnect update or are people still having this problem?

I also tried the lumbar thing, but no luck. WTF?

So our brand new 23 still does this... honestly this is the worst infotainment integration I've ever seen the RSE is almost useless and that was one of the big things that drove us to get a Minivan :\

I sent this to the manager at the dealership this morning. Maybe you can give it a try.

My screens are working this morning. I turned on the interior lights using the switch next to the headlights then started the car. Try that on yours leave the interior lights on with the switch on the side then start see if that helps.

Coming back to this thread from earlier posts. I'm still having problems with the entertainment system, system restarts (head unit and Fire TVs) don't always address the issues consistently and the system can remain unacceptably unavailable for use.

I am rightfully frustrated enough that I'm trying in vain to organize folks to join together for a class action lawsuit. We all paid a premium for this system and it is simply not reliable enough and should be considered a defect that requires remedy - either by fixing the system once and for all, or by refunding money paid for the system and damages for decreased resale value.

I have an appointment set up on Feb 9th to see if a reported dealer-only "flash" of new firmware will resolve problems.

Otherwise, we really should be looking to band together and sue. And this system is a disasters across Stellantis brands - Ram, Jeep, too. So we'll have plenty of folks to stand with us.

I was considering the same and given the fact our 23 that was built less than a month ago has the same issue I dont have much hope :\

Hi everyone, Nice to see that I'm not losing my mind and that others are going crazy too. Glad to have found some friends in that regard.
I have a 2022 Hybrid Limited, ordered 9/22, took delivery 12/22. Same issues as everyone else. Started sporadically, but now it's pretty much every day with no control from front, just a message "service unavailable on front...." I did find that you can listen in on 1 rear screen from the media screen, so at least my 8 yr old can control it and I can listen in, but no way to mirror the screen for my 4 yr old. Like most of you, this was a major factor in choosing this vehicle. To say I'm disappointed is a gross understatement after spending over 60k on a minivan. I've been through a lemon law suit before. I was successful, but it took years and cost thousands out of pocket before finally winning and basically breaking even. I would be curious to know if an entertainment system is considered part of the lemon law. At $2500 for the theater option, and known issues for 2 or 3 model years, plus now '23's having it... I would think even if not lemon law, that this would violate consumer protection laws if Chrysler is selling things that they know doesn't work. Might be worth reaching out to Steve Lehto for an opinion. He's a lemon law attorney in MI with a popular YouTube channel.

In the meantime, since I've now read this entire thread, I'm gonna try some of the things people here are mentioning just for kicks and due diligence. Also, I have an appointment with my dealership next week. I can post my updates, although after reading this thread, I'm not holding my breath.

Hey @adrock63 So if you try to hit "rear screens" and hit "listen" you will get the error message. But (in my case) I found that if you just go to media like regular and click sources at top left (this is on my 22 hybrid limited) it displays a whole screen of sources. You can scroll that screen up to reveal more sources and then you can see screen 1 and screen 2 as optional sources. You can even long press them and drag them to the left to make them 1 touch sources so they appear on the "playing" screen. Hope this makes sense.

Hi there, I had the same issue, and based on your post, looks like our minivans were built around the same time. I called the UConnect customer care this morning and the agent walked me through resetting the rear screens (on the Fire TVs itself). This solved the error message issue on the front display. Here are the Instructions: Tap the Gear icon (on each fire TV screen), then tap Device and Software, tap Reset to Factory Defaults. Follow the prompts to set up the screens after Reset and it should work. Good luck!

I've done multiple times of factory reset and it did work while the car was running. The error would come back next day...I'm just tired of doing this factory reset again and again...my car is at the dealership now and who knows when and how they will fix this for good.
