Hi, we just got a 2021 Pinnacle Hybrid, and whenever the kids start to play a game on the rear screens, they go black. Additionally, when we try to play a DVD, it gets stuck on the start menu, and the screens freeze and we cannot get the DVD to start playing.
Any ideas on how to fix?

I have the same game issue as you and they will be looking at my van next week. However, the DVD menu screen seems to happen to me as well but if I touch the screen of the mini video on the front control screen, it will start to play. If only one rear screen is being used, I get a menu screen on the front main panel on one have of the screen. I push the middle “ok” button and it begins playing but it is slow and delayed to begin. Hope this helps to at least get the DVD to play for you. I’ll keep you posted about the games for mine and please keep me posted with what happens with yours. I would contact your dealer ASAP as well.

Thanks--please keep me updated on how it goes at the dealer. Guess I will have to make an appointment, as well....

Thanks--it says we are up to date. So frustrating...
That link only checks if there's an update available for the main head unit up front. It's not completely accurate either. An update may be available at the dealership even though the website says it's already up to date. This happened to us a couple years ago with our 2018. Your video routing module may need an update too. Regardless, you're still under warranty so the dealership should take care of it.

don’t bother taking it in. Just got mine back. Dealer says no known firm ware update. They said Chrysler knows about the issue and has no solution. Their may be an update in a couple months. This is brutal. It’s a 2500$ option and it doesn’t work!

Sorry to hear..we have an appointment March 8th. We did find a service bulletin that deals with the issue (though mostly for older models), and service repair tips online for the VRM Module. I'm bringing both of those with me to the dealer. I'll let you know if I find out anything different from them.

Can you send me the service bulletins please.

The car is still at the dealership. They have opened a ticket with Chrysler, since there are no service bulletins, and are waiting for a response. They said the DVD player is working, but I will be sure to double check before leaving the service area....

UPDATE: The first time we took it in, they were able to fix the games freezing up (black screen) by replacing the video routing module. However, that did not fix the DVD not playing. They are now ordering a new DVD unit to see if that resolves the problems.

Thanks for replying! My DVDs can play but no games. It just freezes the whole unit up once I touch the games. I wonder if these neverending issues with this stuff qualifies for lemon law? I literally only had one package I had to have in my van and that is the one package that hasn't worked since I bought it! Ugg!
