It makes sense to first put out the software update first. Hopefully the fix is not far out.
What happens to the ones that were sold in Canada during this time frame? Just for kicks I went on the USA Chrysler notification of the recall and found that my serial number is one of those in the recall. Nothing from Chrysler Canada as yet. Confused and what to make of this for those north of the border. I thought that the 2022 crop would be free of problems like. If I would have been aware of this I would have hung on to my 2018 ice model.

I logged into my Canadian MOPAR account and it shows the recall for my 2021 PacHy already. You will be hearing more soon.

This recall is being done voluntarily by FCA, it’s not being ordered by regulators. Search your VIN on the Canadian Chrysker site.
Indeed upon searching Chrysler Canada website it does show my serial # as being involved in the recall. We all go into the waiting game and hope nothing untoward happens in my driving this winter.

But, as the first post to this thread states, the problem IS the harness/connector.
An internal transmission wiring connector short could result in an unexpected engine shutdown under certain conditions.

So the connector shorts out, which sends a message to shutdown the engine immediately. The software update, from my understanding, would just delay the amount of time to shutdown. So you are saying this software update will prevent the short?
It would be nice if Chrysler would explain to us in detail how the software update permanently fixes the problem for our vehicles. That would instill some confidence. The beginning of this thread does indicate that the fix is there to facilitate getting out of traffic and that is all. I just received my recall for my 2022 today with it apparently being available immediately. We were planning a 1000 mile plus one way trip this Spring and to the USA at that, but I do not fail safe with this hanging over our heads. So far everything is working as it should and I would sure hate to disturb a hornet's nest. For warranty sake I guess I must.

The 03A recall is not related to any connector/harness. If that issue is the case, there will be a separate bulletin that we would be releasing if our team has found that to be the issue. Right now, our main focus is on the software update for the PIM. We will take this feedback down for our technical team to further review.

I have my 03A recall letter here and it clearly states that this recall is a software update to deal with connector which may short out and shut down the vehicle.
