I see the same thing. @ChryslerCares , think about it from our perspective. The reason I got this car is to transport my family, the most important thing in my life. Now there is a potential recall, something that might risk that family in a serious accident. And there are no details from Chrysler on how we should handle the situation if we encountered it on a freeway. What is Chrysler waiting for? For someone to get seriously rear ended due to this issue and lose their life?

I got a mailer and an email about my car being impacted by the recall. The dealership says they don't have parts and the website is not functioning. How do you think we handle this?

I use this car daily for school and other activities. Does Chrysler recommend we stop using it till supplies become available?

This is really frustrating.
Hello,

We completely understand your frustration on this matter. Safety recall 03A has recently been released for 2022 and 2023 model year Chrysler Pacifica Hybrids to address potential power loss concerns. Please know that a fix is also coming soon for the rest of the year models. Again, we appreciate your continued patience. Should something occur, please reach out to our roadside assistance. If you have any additional questions, please send us a PM.

We experienced the shutdown at 75 MPH in fast lane with kids onboard last Saturday. Luckily no one was hurt. I had it towed to the nearest dealership who said they could get me in by April 15. Now I’m going to that dealer to drive my car out on the street so it can be towed by Chrysler to another dealer for an appointment in 2 days after I complained (but Chrysler won’t tow dealer to dealer thus my curbside roll out).

The dealer I’m taking it to is giving me the company line that it is only a software update. NOT convinced. Has anyone who was having failures AND had the software update confirm that their problem was actually remedied?

Also no loaners are available and a rental “may” be reimbursed….

Anybody called a lawyer yet? Chrysler has 1 chance to get this right @ChryslerCares

I’m sure rethinking that potential Ram 2500 purchase for this year, I know this much.

My letter arrived yesterday and said the same as described by snobrdrdan. Frankly, I interpret it as nothing more than Chrysler trying to shift blame if a crash results from this issue. "Hey, we told you there was a problem so you assumed the risk by continuing to drive the vehicle."

Absolute pathetic garbage.
Finally got the letter today for my 2020, link on the website still doesn't work. :(

I had a long discussion with a friend of mine who was a reginal service manager for GM. I hate to say it but he said they don't really
get serious about certain things unless 2 or more people get hurt. Then it's put on the front burner. Also it seems any kind of class action suit
cannot be filed unless this happens. This may have changed. Not sure.

From what I read here problems are less than 1% and luckily no one has been hurt. So maybe they are taking the
lets wait and see approach.
@ChryslerCares - can you give us any idea of how the mileage on a vehicle might impact the likelihood of the connector short/failure?

If your vehicle is over 20,000 miles, are you safe? Over 30,000?
Brand new ‘22 pacifica hybrid. Bought it 4 months ago. 5k miles. It’s been at the dealership for 2 weeks because of this problem. Now it needs a brand new transmission. But didn’t my car have a brand new transmission when it was built 4 months ago? Now I’m hoping for a buyback.
This is exactly what I told FCA months ago when they put a new transmission in my car. It already had a new transmission, putting a new faulty transmission back into my car won't resolve anything.

It's happening to vehicles with less than 10k miles. I had around 17k when it happened to mine.

Hello,

We're not exactly sure about the mileage, as this can occur at random. Should your vehicle fail, we recommend reaching out to our Roadside Assistance. Thank you

Update: had the “recall” service performed today on my 2022 with 7.2k miles. They updated the software on the PIM. I drove it up and down the highway afterwards for a few hours and had a shutdown again. I got about 30 seconds warning as it turned into turtle mode and limped to the shoulder.

Was going at 70 mph with adaptive cruise set and less than 1% battery (same as first time I had the shutdown).

Dealership wouldn’t do anything other than the recall service the first time because it didn’t throw any codes. Now we will see, I’m back at the dealership. I couldn’t restart the car for about 10 minutes and I was on a NOT safe section of highway, so glad I did this test drive before putting the 3 car seats back in!

Extremely valuable information, @FiddlerTheDrum! I believe this proves the software update only "softens" the failure so you get 30 seconds warning. You still end up stranded, but hopefully not rear-ended.

I think the correct response from Chrysler is obvious:
1. ANY PacHy owner that has experienced the shutdown-at-speed, even once, needs a transmission replacement. A defect has been proven in that vehicle.
2. Every other PacHy owner that hasn't experienced the shutdown needs the software update as a stopgap measure. They may or may not experience the failure, but if they do -- even once -- the transmission should be replaced.

Question for FiddlerThedrum: What warning gave you 30 seconds to shutdown? Was it audible or merely a message on the dashboard? Or both?

Please follow up with NHTSA about having a shutdown after the recall software update.

It’s was audible and visible. You won’t miss it that’s for sure

Question for @FiddlerTheDrum did the audible/visual warning alert you that the car was going to shut down in 30s? Or did it say something like "pull over safely" and the amount of time before the car quits was undetermined? Thanks so much for sharing this information with us as I've been waiting for someone to experience the stall post recall.
It didn’t tell me how long. The 30 is an estimate, I was trying to count in my head while dodging a car behind me and realizing that there isn’t much of a shoulder to pull over on.

I tried to reaccelerate to go to another section of highway that would let me get further over but there was a turtle icon on the dash and I was basically coasting at that point. I may have had throttle prior to that but I was a little jarred as I was focusing on the rear view mirror

Still sounds terrible, glad you pulled safely with no one in the vehicle.
Hopefully they also updated PIM to store the codes correctly, and now you get a new transmission.
