Question for the group -- has anyone who experienced the 03A issue NOT been able to restart the vehicle and thus been left stranded? I am trying to decide whether or not to take our Pachy on an upcoming family road trip, or just borrow my folks' Highlander instead.

To be clear, I have not been affected yet. I did already go through the P0E15 recall and ECH fix for our 2021 Pachy. Thanks for your responses in advance!

You may want to add a poll question with two options, eg "I experienced the engine shutdown and at least on one occasion could not restart the vehicle" and "I experienced the engine shutdown but was always able to immediately restart the vehicle" -- or whatever makes sense to you.

Then cross post to other threads:

I created a poll and it worked pretty well:

I'm also planning an LA to SF road trip pretty soon with my 2017 and would like to know...
Hello,

The update for the 2017 would not be out for a few months. We will keep everyone affected by this recall further posted. If you do decide to take your vehicle on a road trip and if anything does happen, please reach out to our roadside assistance and also keep us posted for further assistance. Thank you

I think it's abundantly clear that the recall "fix" does not eliminate the shutdown possibility, so if the risk of a shutdown is unacceptable to you, you should permanently park the vehicle.

Personally, my thinking is that driving is a hazardous activity and the marginal increase in risk represented by this issue is not enough for me to change my behavior. Driving is not "safe", under any circumstances. If you think it is, you should take a long hard look at the statistics.

Thanks for all the help these last two years. I decided that Chrysler not having a fix for this is the last straw. I traded my 2021 Hybrid Touring L even for a 2023 Accord Hybrid after my refund from the Mopar Warranty. I hope Chrysler does end up fixing things because I loved my Van.

So are you saying Chrysler will pay for roadside assist (towing) even if the car is out of warranty? Because a 2017 would be out of the warranty period in almost every case.

Roadside service tow coverage is only if your vehicle is still within the warranty parameter. Otherwise, we recommend checking with your insurance provider to see if you have towing with your plan.

Dryloch, same situation here. After the coolant heater replacement, an air conditioning failure, the ECH software update recall, and now this I sold my '21 Pachy for what I had in it and got a CR-V. Very unfortunate, as I really enjoyed the van when it was operating properly.

You should correct the misinformation you gave to the user with the 2017 van then.
