Just adding my experience (so far) with the recall.

I was able to schedule an appointment online for the Z11 recall at the local dealership with only a few days wait. But, no loaners or rentals as an option (either a "waiter" or "have own ride"). I was OK with that, as our other car is electric. A nuisance, but no gas usage.

I brought it in yesterday at 10AM, and at 3:00 today they called to say that it was at 80% charge and asked if I wanted to bring it home to bring it down to 60%. So they've had the car a day and a half -- the expected completion time -- and they haven't even reached the first step in the recall (which is the drive the vehicle until the SOC is 60% or lower). Not a great sign.

I'm not holding my breath for a car wash and full tank of gas, or that it will be quick, but if they do the job right, I'll be happy.
Well, it's now been just about 4 business days -- twice as long as Chrysler's recall FAQ promises. Tomorrow being Saturday (half day), it may well be Monday, close to a full week.
I'm on the same boat. I actually took mines in on Monday morning and as of today (Friday) they still have it. I was told they had to drive it (discharge it to under 60%) then charge it, wait/let it rest, then retest. As of today, they told me they are doing the test again and opening up a star case to see they should do. There is another forum that also mentioned they ended up doing the recall and within about 2 weeks check engine turned on and gave an error code for the hybrid battery pack. Advisor said recently it's been taking the recall about 4 days as @rscott0 mentioned.

Another update: I called the dealer, and they say it needs a new battery. They will try to find out tomorrow how long that might take. When they let me know, I'm going to see about a loaner/rental.
The dealer just called, and said that it does not need a new battery after all, so I'm picking it up tomorrow morning. So all told, just shy of a week.

So it initially failed and then passed? How did they conclude it doesn't need a new battery?
I'm guessing that the customer service person I talked to at the local dealership was mistaken when I talked to her yesterday.

She said there was an issue with the Star system, it wouldn't let them open a case to replace the battery. She said that each time they tested, it said "battery error" and to repeat the process. She said they didn't want to repeat the 3-day process (I'm guessing the did it 3 times, once a day, each time getting the same error). I asked her if it needed a new battery, and she said yes.

My guess -- trying to fill in the gaps (e.g. did it say "battery error", or something like "error testing battery") -- is that something did go wrong with the testing each time (some customer walking by ignoring the cones and "Do Not Disturb" sign opening the door, perhaps). Then, after the 3rd try, the dealership made the call to replace the battery. But, Chrysler already took care of that: to get a new battery, the dealer has to submit the details from the test. So they probably called today, said "Hey, give us a new battery please", and Star said "No, you need to test again, this time the proper way." They did, and it passed.

This is all just guesswork. But from what the service person said, it makes sense to me. In an ideal world, the dealer wouldn't have told me it needed a new battery, but dealers aren't perfect.

I dropped off on Tuesday, and was told it should be about two days of work. I was given a loaner, thankfully, but I didn't get both carseats out because I didn't think I needed them.

I tried picking up on Thursday, but there was no answer when I called. Called on Friday afternoon, and was put on hold for 12 minutes when I finally gave up. I got a text message Saturday morning that it has failed the "recall process" twice.

I don't know what this test entails other than checking the battery control module, but at this point I'm not feeling confident. Last thing I want is to be left with a headache after 4 years of hapy ownership, but that's exactly where I'm at. We're going on almost a year of being told not to charge, or park around other vehicles in the midst of historically high gas prices. I already had to go through this crap with the Bolt recall.

I'd rather not call the BBB, but if this doesn't work out that's the plan to get some options for help. Reading here about the unevent handling of gift cards, and other perks (oil changes and rotations?) given to some but not to others makes me even more annoyed with Chrysler.

Think of it this way, if you are getting a new battery it extends the life of your vehicle by double.

Mine "failed" the battery test a few times as well... but I'm pretty sure that wasn't a "the battery failed", but instead was "the test did not complete." There are a number of things that need to be done properly; opening a door before the 3 hours is up may prevent the test from passing, and they have 1 minute from the time they open the door until they need to plug in their gizmo for the testing.

You should definitely get the oil changes and rotations (3 over 2 years, I think it is) -- that's handled by Chrysler, not the dealer. I think they said 7-10 days after you get the recall done.

I, too, was really annoyed that Chrysler did nothing except send a recall notice... but then shelled out $1,000s to reimburse people who complained for rentals, and gave out gift cards to others that complained. As far as I know, they did nothing for anything who did not complain to them.

My Z11 recall has placed my 2017 Pacifica Hybrid in the Chrysler repair shop for over 9 weeks. It went in Nov. 7 and is still being "tested." When is this car labeled a lemon? Tim from Ohio
