The local dealership ran their diagnostics and confirmed the aux battery was dead. They wanted to charge me an arm and a leg to install the new battery, so I purchased one from O'Reilly's and installed it myself. However, the stop/start feature still won't work, and the warning "A" sign remains lit on the dash.

What am I missing? Could it be a faulty battery cable? Or a fuse?

Thank you!

How long have you been running the new battery. When the dealership changed mine, I had to wait 24 hours for the battery to charge and the fault message to go away. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the response. It's been about 48 hours now. I'll triple-check my cables to make sure they're tight, but I'm pretty sure they're solid.

Did you have the grounding recall (V53, I think) done? It manifests itself as a dead ESS battery. Your original battery may not have needed changing at all.
