Rhythmic clicking from dash when vehicle off

We have been having a rhythmic clicking sound that almost sounds like a small washing machine that occurs when we turn the van off. It sounds like it is coming from the dash. The sound shuts off after about two minutes and only occurs when the vehicle is off. If you open a door, the sound starts up again. Otherwise, the vehicle has been running fine. Has anyone else experienced this? 2018 Hybrid 10,000 miles. All recalls and RRT’s completed with no issues found.

Ok, so I showed my dealer this thread. They supposedly replaced actuator for $300 repair. The noise is worse now. Dealer is claiming +$1000 repair to replace HVAC recirc door. Does this seem right? It seems like a sham to me….
That’s a rip-off.
That’s a rip-off.
I agree. No sure if Chrysler reps see post in these forums. But I’m highly considering trading in this things and moving on from Chrysler vehicles. It’s pretty bad that something relatively new is having seemingly simple issues and that their dealerships/service centers want to charge an arm and a leg
just ordered the part so I'll be taking this on soon. Our Pacifica has been doing this for months, and I thought maybe a new battery would help but the battery died and I replaced it, but it's still happening.
Hello everyone! I’m new on this forum and our used ‘19 Pacifica Touring we just purchased is having what seems to be this same issue you are all describing with the recirculating HVAC actuator.
First, let me say thank you! You guys are awesome and way better than any dealer reporting and fixing issues on cars.
In my case the symptoms are the clicking/flapping noise under the dash when the car is off and I noticed when the vehicle is On, barely any A/C air comes out the driver/front passenger vents, unless the fan is set to the max setting #7.
Then the cold air finally starts rushing out the vents, but never as you would expect at max fan settings. It’s as if it had to build up strength to push out the air, but barely any comes out when the fan is at low setting.
I thought it was either a bad HVAC blower or damaged actuator which in fact seems to be the case.
I will be trying to replace the actuator in the next few days, as living in South FL, we definitely need the cold A/C.
I will let you know how it goes.
Here’s a video I found about it:

These klutch wrench/gimble wrench ratchets can probably be very helpful for such a tight space:

Just did mine today, and I have a few notes. First, @jasonn did a pretty good write up that helped me a lot. See below:

I just did it last week. The process is fairly trivial, just tight spaces and you really can't see what you are doing when it comes to the actual actuator.

From memory:
1. Remove glovebox door. Open door, push the top tabs inward to let it all the way out of the console. Remove the soft-open little cord thing. Door will come all the way down and fall off the hinge.
2. Remove carpet lining thingy. I think there were 3 push-pin fasteners holding it in. Push the lil dot in the middle to release.
3. Remove bottom air duct. Two philips screws i think. (might be able to skip this step)
4. Remove cabin filter door to give you a little extra wiggle room
5. Actuator is to the left of the cabin filter box, There are two bolts holding it in.
6. When putting the new one in, you have to get the rotation just right for the shaft to line up. So rotate the new actuator until it slides in, then rotate actuator again to align bolt holes. Might as well where a blind fold during this step.
#3 - lay down on the floor board and look up under the glover compartment. You'll see a goofy air duct with 3 holes, I think, this is removed with the 2 screws. Then you have to wrestle it a bit as it is connected to another air duct, but you'll understand when you get here. And you'll have to wrestle it back in place when you put it back in.

#4 - I don't think this helped me with the wiggle room, but it did help me to see the recirc door and test the new actuator before finalizing. Also, might as well replace the filter when you're in here, mine was filthy.

#6 - I got my part off ebay, and it would not fit into the female part of the door. I ended up wrenching the plastic male star piece from the stock part and the ebay part and swapping them. If you're mechanically inclined, and you are swapping this part, I think you'll know what I mean for this step.

Hope this helps. and the above poster is correct about the circular ratchet things, that is probably the way go, but I got it done with a small 1/4" ratchet and 7/32 socket.

^^Great write up..
Removing the bottom plastic duct definitely helps giving you room to work from underneath instead of the front where the glove compartment was.
I replaced mine too on my ‘19 Pacifica.
Here’s a video I made for it, hope it helps.

My 2018 PHLimited does the same thing. I turn off power to van and clicking/tapping noise begins. It goes on for approximately two minutes if I sit and listen. When I open door, it begins making noise again and continues to make noise for approximately five minutes. Also, my right side rear slide door will not lock. Dealer repaired with new part stating it was electrical issue...it worked when I picked up van from dealer, but not the next day or thereafter.
Yes I have this same dash noise/issue.

Yes! We have the same issue on our 2019 pacifica Limited. No idea what it is.

I think you got the same part I did, were you able to get it to fit without swapping the white plastic cross part?
