Road trip delayed

What was replaced a year ago, the small auxillary battery? Have you driven the vehicle enough during the pandemic to keep it and the main battery fully charged? If not, did you use a battery tender?
So, why was the road trip delayed?Well was supposed to be on my short road trip already but the start/stop indicator light is on AGAIN. Was replaced the first time maybe a little over a year ago.Maybe it is time to start shopping for the new Sienna.

Stop/start (aka ESS) isn't an essential feature. Disconnect the negative cable from the aux battery and get both batteries tested. If the main battery tests good, leave the aux disconnected and go anyways.
I pity anyone that needs major repairs (probably waiting a long time for parts) or is being forced into buying a new vehicle right now. There isn't much to choose from, and what is out there is overpriced due to short supply.

And please do shop the new sienna . Get yourself in a 4 cyl van and then you can join the Sienna forum and list your van short comings there . The battery failed , load test the batteries and see which one is the culprit . This could have happened 3 days into your trip or 3 months , just saying . I love the people who butch and wine and think that Kia , Honda or Toyota vehicles are bulletproof. Elaborate on the "semi-working but shutting off the accessories" part. What exactly isn't working and when? IMO they should've had it diagnosed by now unless it really is a more complex issue. I can speculate all I want, but I'm not the guy working on it.
Unfortunately, you're at the mercy of their skill level at this point. Hopefully, they were knowledgeable enough to disconnect the batteries before testing them. It sounds like they were because ESS wouldn't be functioning at all unless they did. The codes will tell them what's wrong/where to troubleshoot further. If things aren't working, codes will most definitely be triggered.
ESS can be disabled for a few reasons, but it's almost always caused by a weak battery (which usually triggers code P00FD - Battery B State Of Charge Performance). Although the code refers to the aux battery, the main battery can still cause it because the two are connected together. The charge of one can and will affect the other. A bad hood switch is the next likely cause, but is pretty rare. When code P00FD is active, only ESS is disabled.

Just like our Pacificas, we have a lot invested in our own physical bodies. When we aren’t well, we take ourselves to a doctor to try to figure out what is going on; and, hopefully, we are able to go home from that “service” visit with a “cure” which will correct the issue.
So we should expect the same when we take our vehicle to the “auto doctor”, who supposedly is the “expert”. We have spent tens of thousands of dollars on our Pacificas and deserve the same care and expertise from these “experts” as we do from our personal physicians. Would you not complain to him or her if that “expert” was unable to diagnose your issue? Would you not seek another doctor, especially if your life is on the line?
Have you been there, in either situation? Well, I have been in both situations. If I had remained with the “expert” who did not or could not fix my issue, I would not be here today.
So, continue to post about the personal issue(s) which you are having with your minivan. Perhaps someone will be able to guide you to that “cure” for which you have been looking.
