Initially I was super excited about purchasing a new minivan for my growing family. I loved the Pacifica, the way it looked, seemed to drive well, the screens on the back of the seats, etc. When driving it for the first month we complained to the dealer there seemed to be issues with brakes. With in the first year a bolt fell off and the the starter fell out, brought it in asked they checked the brakes and they said it was fine. We have brought it in 3 additional times for different lights that have been and they keep saying the brakes are ok. Now there’s rust on my hood, the road noise is so loud, my transmission lags then jumps, my antilock brake lights are now on and once again we are back in the shop. My van only 25,000 miles on it! I don’t know what to do, I’m glad it’s under warranty but it’s a new car there shouldn’t be so much trouble.

Sorry to hear about your experience. You should get the issues reported and resolved ASAP with your Chrysler dealership. May be contact / PM @ChryslerCares now for additional assistance during your service. I understand and agree that a new car shouldn’t have so many issues. The rust on hood is a documented regular occurrence here in this forum (you can find it if you do a forum search). In the past they used to offer replacement of hood, nowadays they prefer repainting (under warranty of course). I guess the quality control for Chrysler was not top notch (even though the minivan itself is excellent in design and execution). Hope the matter gets resolved to your satisfaction. Please add your vehicle information (Model / trim, etc) to your signature so that it shows up in every post and you can receive more relevant help quicker in case you are having other problems.

Contact your dealer on the hood rusting there is a paint issue specific to the 2017 with peeling and bubbling and it is covered, I wouldn't have known but my friend had the issue and I looked it up
We are having a lot of issues with ours too it just turned over 32,000 brakes give out, batteries die, car won't start, road noise is horrible in ours also, sounds like some same issues ours is going back in tomorrow, we also now have a Chrysler Rep involved they are not monitoring the appt and diagnostics they have already contacted the dealership prior to us taking it good luck hope it gets better I agree with you its a great vehicle when it works

Yes we brought it to Cortese Chrysler in Rochester NY. We had concerns about the brakes since we took it home and they said it was normal wear and tear at 25000 and it would be 450 for new front brakes so we went and had it serviced somewhere else. The bubbling and rust on the hood they tried to say was normal as well. Can we use any body shop for service or does it have to be the dealership?

Thanks for following up. We understand the frustrations this has caused. In order for us to provide an additional layer of assistance, we do recommend having your vehicle serviced at an FCA authorized dealer. You may locate one here: Find a Chrysler Dealership Near You | Chrysler.

You have to take to the dealership so they can get it approved from Chrysler, they will need to take pictures and then you can work with them on where it goes good luck this has been a nightmare for us with our Pacifica 2017 Limited, ours is in for the 2nd time for brake issues and battery issues first time we got there is nothing wrong with it or we can't replicate it, but yet if you google our year of vehicle you can see all the problems with them but yet they keep saying nothing wrong, I am working with an FCA rep and still having issues is has been the most disappointing car experience I have ever had with mechanical issues and trying to get repaired

The bubbling on the hood is definitely covered, mine was repainted a couple months ago.

Front brakes can go in 25,000 miles depending on use. Its a heavy van, and the brakes are pretty small. You wont have any luck getting that covered. Chrysler brakes are pretty crappy, the ones in my Pacifica have been fine (also 25k miles) but in my 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee they were a mess.

Road noise is tires. Easily fixed by a new set of tires.

Mine has also been a very disappointing vehicle.
