Hi All, I have had to get the PacHy towed to the dealer twice in three weeks for a "service Charging system" and turtle error. Once the error occurs the vehicle goes into limp mode and then does not start until reset by the dealer. I will keep you all posted on progress.
The car is sitting at the dealer now, I am not impressed as this happened while driving down the road, lost all accel power and had foot to the floor.

What did the dealership end up doing to fix this? Mine is still at the dealership and they say they are waiting for a new battery.

Yep I just had the same issue with my 2019 pacifica hybrid last night. Had to have it towed. Not even 1k miles on it and already wont work! Is my family safe in this thing? Can I return it? Should I be posting this to my 1 million+ Social media followers to never buy a Chrysler? This problem seems so common how is it not a major recall?

so this is a common problem or what?
why such things happen I'm a little bit curious and want to know the reason why, thank)
This is probably not considered as a ‘common problem’. It only appears that way because people who encounter such problems are much more inclined to come to an online forum like this one to complain about it while those who do not encounter the problem go on their merry way and you never hear from them.

Hi Matt, same exact thing happened to me last night. I feel very uncomfortable that a brand new car (my Pacifica is about 4 months old) would just stop working like this - I have young kids and can't imagine having the van stall in the middle of the road. It feel rather unsafe and I hope messages like this are used in litigation against Chrysler if there is a known defect but they still keep selling the car. Perhaps we should all band together and get the NHTSB to issue some sort of warning or mandatory recall. This issue does not appear isolated as many different owners of Pacifica Hybrids (including 2018 and 2019 models) are experiencing the same thing. I regret buying this car and regret the headache of having to worry about when it will fail next. I towed mine to the dealer and they said they simply cleared the code and the car is fine. That doesn't seem terribly reassuring - why did the code trigger in the first place? Why are so many people experiencing the same problem? It's a beautiful car when it works but this consistent problem is of deep concern.

With the same message, sometimes after waiting almost exactly 1 minute, it would recover and allow me to shift into gear. When I had the problem at the dealership the tech showed me a trick. If pop the hood, the ICE starts up, and then I could get it into gear. Still gives you the message, but at least I could drive it. At least a possible emergency fix. For me they had to replace part of the charging system. Took 2 months to get the part.

I am experiencing this issue now. the first time it happened was like yours - lost all power in the middle of a major road, with my kids in the car. Had to have it towed to the dealer.

It's happened twice more where it would start but would give me the "Service Charging System" error and would not shift gears. Both times it would allow me to shift and drive after 10-15 minutes. It's been at the dealership 3 times in 6 weeks and they don't know what is happening. Like you, they are clearing the code and saying it's fine. I'm taking a 600+ mile road trip with my kids in 3 weeks and don't trust that my car won't die in the middle of nowhere Pennsylvania.

This is clearly not a one off problem. So what do we do about it????

Well, it happens to me too We recently purchased a 2019 Pacifica plug-in Hybrid Touring in February, and have been enjoying it. Until last night. Our van was packed up and our younger kids were onboard, and we drove off to Las Vegas. When all of a sudden, the dash lit up with a warning to "Service Charging System" and the car lost all power. Fortunately, I was able to safely merge to the shoulder to park. I tried to restart the car but it refused to start. I contacted roadside assistance and they dispatched a tow truck. 4 hours later, the tow truck came and we are on a 85 mile trip to the closest dealer in Henderson Nevada. I am extremely disappointed and concerned about the safety of this vehicle! A quick search online shows that this seems to be a rather common issue. I'm hoping things go smoothly at the dealership.

I also have a 2019 Pacifica Hybrid and got that same service charging system error. Towed it to dealer. Ended up being the hybrid battery. Took awhile to get the part approved but once it did, I found out that they don't have any replacement batteries, apparently in the whole country. Van has been at the dealer for a month now. Still waiting.

I have a brand new 2018 PacHybrid with this issue. Car is sitting awaiting a tow. Dealer telling me no loaner will be provided. Sent a PM to Chrysler Cares. Will see if this needs to escalate further, which I am willing to do.

Sounds like exactly what happened to me today! I took my car in 6 months ago because I had an incident where it only moved forward slowly when in reverse. The dealer said the car was fine. Today I got the turtle light with very low power. It was a dangerous situation as I was pulling onto a busy street! I pulled into a parking lot and then it showed me the "Charging system needs service" message. Next, I put it in reverse and generously applied the gas...it moved forward with low power. I did this several times. I then tried to turn it off. The "run" light on the ignition stayed on while the accessories (air/display/ radio) turned off. After just a minute the car started up again without me touching anything! This repeated several times. I sat for 90 minutes waiting for a tow truck. Then, without me touching anything, the car shut off. I turned it on and it said "ready to drive".
For those of you with similar problems, how was this resolved? I am very concerned about my family's safety!
