So apparently there is something that has rolled down in the defrost vent right next to the front windshield. Of course we didn't notice at the dealership but it sounds like a very small item (little less than a marble maybe) is rolling around. Each turn we make you can hear it roll back and forth. It's very annoying to be in such a quiet car and hear it roll.

Has anyone had any experience in fishing something out of the vent? It doesn't look easy to get in there. I've tried to find it with a flashlight but I can't see down into it. I've emptied out all the compartments and I'm positive it's something in the vent and not anything else.

Any advice is appreciated...:frown2:

Probably best to have the dealer fish it out. It may have gotten in there at the factory.

I support the 'at the factory' guess. I've found screws on the floor under seats or anyplace where it takes longer to dig for rather than just getting a new screw from the bin. I've seen some incomplete trucks missing interior caps for the B-Colom or the orange bulb for the left indicator on the front. Just missing. There is a warranty category for the missing parts.

I'm not sure what could have gone down the vent. But with the chance that it is metal you could try those extendable magnets on a rod. *pause typing* I went and looked at a L-Plus vent. I doubt much of anything will fit down there. The wall in the engine compartment doesn't seem to have any access. I'm not a mechanic though. Tomorrow I will pester the parts guys for a diagram for the dash exploded view.

Thanks guys, yeah I'm thinking it happened at the factory too. I tried a magnet tonight but it's too far down. Going to call the dealer tomorrow and see if I can bring it in. Hopefully they can get it out without having to tear apart the dashboard.

Hi Stacks,

I'd be happy to follow up with your dealership for you if needed, just PM our page with your VIN and let me know!
