Anyone have any comments on fitting 18" rim and snow tires on my Pacifica that is currently fitted with the factory 20" wheels ?
This would save money.

Thanks

I went with 19s, but you won't have any issues with 17s or 18s either. Check out tirerack.com. Even if you don't buy from them, their tire/wheel configurator is great to see what will fit.

You can run 17"s if you want...

235/65r17
235/60r18
235/55r19
245/50r20
I have a good set of Goodyear Ultra Ice Grip WRT from my previous car, a 2012 Journey, with tire pressure sensors. Does anyone know if they will fit on my Limited? Will the pressure sensors be compatible as well? Thanks

I found a great deal on CL for 235 70 17 which includes Jeep rims and brand new zero mile tires. Sell bought for his Jeep but found out his upgraded brake setup will not work with 17" rims. This size is .4" larger than current 245 50 20's we currently are running? Is it possible these could to work?

They will fit but you will be 1.1 inch smaller in diameter. When you speedometer reads 60 you will be actually traveling at 57.8 mph . tiresize. com/calculator

After reading all of the good info on this forum I went ahead and placed some orders for the following:

- 4 x Touren TR9 17" x 7" ET42
- 4 x 5 Black Touren Lug Nut Kit
- 4 x Wheel Centric Hub Rings 72.62 mm to 71.5 mm
- 4 x Michelin Latitude X-Ice XI2 235/65R17
- 4 x Chrysler OEM TPMS 68313387AB

Got the first three from partsengine.ca, the tires from costco.ca and the TPMS from eBay. Will let you know how it all shakes out when they're all put together and balanced.

Here's my winter tire setup that includes tires + rims + TPMS sensors:

Costco - BLIZZAK WS80 235/65R17 = $560.60
Tirerack - Black Painted Rims 17X6.5 5-127 ET40 CB71 ST NEW = $395.74
eBay - NEW OEM DODGE JEEP TPMS TIRE PRESSURE SENSOR SENSORS 68252493AB 68105280AF = $59.95

Total = $1016.29

This price includes installation at Costco which took 2:15 hours.

I also got a set of chains:

Amazon - Security Chain Company SZ429 Super Z6 Cable Tire Chain for Passenger Cars, Pickups, and SUVs = $94.99

These chains fit very well and are easy to put on. I really like how the Pacifica has that huge compartment on the left side of the trunk. I can fit my chains, snow shovel, extra gloves, rug, flashlight, battery jumper and tire repair kit all in there.

I checked out tire rack also and they only listed one tire for my Blue Monster. I looked at it and thought, "You call that a snow tire.?" It was a well known, quality brand that has been mentioned before. That tread looked like a Summer tire to me. Several reviews also had bad things to say about that tire. Maybe the best thing to do is just keep it in the garage this Winter and only come out when the roads are clear. We get those days here in cold, cold Michigan with the wild Winters we have now days. I have seen where I can stand on the snow bank and look down a foot to the top of my mail box. Also January where you can not find a snow flake anywhere. You never know here.

There are numerous styles of summer performance tires. The same is true for winter tires. Even within the Blizzak line they have tires biased toward mostly cold dry roads, others biased towards deepish snow and some biased to mostly ice.

You can get winter tires that are biased to winter on muddy roads. I used some of those for cold weather rallycrosses. The ice biased tires I used for ice racing.
