Was wondering if anyone knows when a software update on the slower speed shifting is coming or in the works? Honda was able to do it-waiting patiently for Chrysler to do the same. Tired of the jerky transmission around town. Resetting adaptations did not hold but it seems this is the solution if it holds!! Waiting for that smooth ride then it will be the best vehicle ever!!! Until then...(2019 Pacifica L)

If you have a 2019 Pacifica L, I believe your problem is not common to such a new vehicle. I would not expect a wide issue software update to solve it. My 2018 has no transmission problems. You need to press your dealer on this, and maybe @ChryslerCares can get involved.

Well this is crazy because I was told by the dealer this is how it behaves. I have been there 5 times now and I have already had a case open with customer cares and they did nothing but get in touch with the dealer. I am afraid I have a lemon and will have to persue this in a different way now. Thanks for all your responses.

I'm prettty sure gas Pacificas have the same 9 speed transmission. Here's a link that you can print and take in to see if it helps.

You brought it to the dealer 5 times for jerky transmission? Each time they've told you that's how it behaves? Can you recreate the jerkiness? Can you video record it happening? If so then post it and send us the link.

Did the transmission issues develop recently or was it like this since the day you bought the car?

It started right away after leaving the dealership. I brought it in right away and was told to fill the tank 2 times and it will smooth out. Not true!! Then brought to another dealership and he said that the 9 speed hesitates at slower speeds looking for the higher gear. I am still hopeful they will have an update since resetting the adaptations helped for a couple miles-it wouldn't hold though. I think this is the right direction. Everything is software related on these transmissions.

Your description does not sound normal despite the dealer's default answer when they can't resolve a problem. Have them prove it to you. Take out another 2019 on the sales lot and see if it behaves the same way. Definitely get ChryslerCares involved. Don't expect a software update from Chrysler.

MY 2019 limited does the same thing I think you are describing. Under 33 MPH my van seems to be searching for a gear and it feels like the transmission is slipping or how I call it shuddering. It feels like the van can't decide if I want to be driving in second gear or seventh gear based on fuel efficiency and speed I guess. Usually happens when I'm pulling out onto a long road with a 30 mph speed limit and I want to go 33 mph or if I have just taken a right hand turn down a road I only want to go about 20 mph on. Between 20/30 MPH is when I feel it the most and bothers me the most. Also have not even reached 1000 miles yet so I am concerned about the longevity of my new Pacifica purchase. Hope my input helps.

Sounds exactly like mine. Have been 5 times to dealership and now a 6th next Tuesday. I will be bringing a printout of someone who has had the valve body replaced and it fixed the problem. @ChyrslerCares will hopefully help but it is determined by the dealership to recommend this replacement. I feel your pain!! I love the vehicle otherwise. I will update after the dealership visit. The following is the link from SciTchr.

The software update message would only be applicable to the radio/UConnect system. All other module updates can only be applied with a direct connection to the vehicle. The Uconnect updates are the only ones pushed over the air.

The software update for the jerking has to be done by the service dept. There is a TSB update that can be performed hopefully it wil help.
