I paired my Android phone the other day. We don't use it much, we have it mostly for emergencies, but it's nice to have a hands-free phone if we need it. The annoying thing is now, when we start the vehicle and I have my cell phone on me, we get a musical tone (kinda like, bop-beedly-boop-beep:eek:) and a notice that hands-free is now available. All fine, but some 30 seconds later, we get the tone again, and 30 seconds after that, still another tone. I can understand the first notice, but what the heck is the purpose of the other two tones? I was thinking that maybe uConnect is telling me that I have a voice or text message waiting, but that's not the case and I can't find anything in the manuals about this either, which is no big surprise:confused:.

Why do I need three reminder that I can now use my cell phone?

That is really weird and would bother the heck out of me. Hopefully someone can figure out how to take that off
It is quite annoying. I don't mind telling me once that I've got a hands-free connection, but three times is a bit much. If I had a choice, I'd turn the audio off and just settle for the scree notification. I just went through all the settings and can't find anything to change or even justify this.

I have an Android Note 4, My wife has a Moto X Pure Android and they don't do this. My guess is it's a phone issue.

Thanks for the input. I can't tell where the tones are coming from, the vehicle or the phone and even my wife with her sharp hearing can't tell. Anyway, I found where the phone was paired to uConnect more than once, so I deleted and re-paired it, and so far I only get the bop-beedly-beep once when uConnect recognizes the phone. I can live with that.

You are right, it looks like a phone issue.

By chance, do you have an auto Bluetooth app on your phone? I did and it sometimes cut the bluetooth off even while i was talking to someone because of a weak signal I suppose. I disabled the app and now I have no problems.

Alternatively, you can always do a soft or hard reset of your phone.

Final outcome, it was the phone that was making that noise, really loud enough that it was hard to tell where it was coming from. Well, my hearing isn't that good to start with. One thing I noticed was that the phone was paired twice with uConnect, I'm thinking that the second one was with the T&C that we traded in. I was able to clear all pairings and started fresh, and now there are no bop-beedledee-boops to listen to. I guess the phone was trying to pair up with the T&C and couldn't find it and was trying to tell me that it couldn't, now it doesn't care...

Thanks for you update. Glad to hear you figured it out.
