Has anyone tried using a steering wheel cover with the heated steering wheel option? I'm noticing some wear on the wheel and I'm trying to avoid anymore of it. Was just wondering what people thought or if there is anyone out there using a steering wheel cover with the heated wheel.

Probably not safe. Kinda like having a heated blanket on a bed, under the comforter!
I drive with different hand placement all the time. Never had any wear issues in 50 years of driving.

I would think if you got a lace-up, tight-fitting, 'leather-like' cover you'd be fine. If you got a fuzzy, furry one you would negate the benefit of a heated wheel. I am sure there is not enough heat applied to the wheel to be of concern.

I was wondering if anyone has tried the perforated leather wraps? I was thinking if it was thin enough like said above it might work.

Ours works just fine with a lace on cover. Leather/ vinyl has an 'R rating' of all but zero. Nominal to no heat captured.

Any chance you could post a link to something like what you are talking about? Thank you.

No, it's just a generic leather(or vinyl if you like) steering wheel cover. Prices are from 7 to 120 dollars and suppliers are from DollarStore to Neiman Marcus. Thickness and material are all too similar to matter.
