Just bought a brand new Limited yesterday. Today after programming the homelink buttons the Uconnect froze for a bit. I turned the vehicle off waited a minute and it started working again but My surround cameras will not engage. If I try to select them via the controls menu I just get a blue circle to appear behind my finger and the image does not change to cameras once I go into reverse. I heard rumors that this had happened before and it may have been a S/W flash that my car did not receive.

Any help would be appreciated.

Pull fuse F76 in the under hood fuse box for a few minutes. That removes power from the UConnect system. Try that and see if that reverts the cameras back to normal. If it happens again, take it to the dealer. Good luck.

That appears to have fixed the problem. However, today after I select the cameras the screen is unresponsive (none of the other camera view soft buttons work, and I can't exit out). The only way I can get out is to go to reverse (it then switches to rear camera view) and then back to drive, or drive faster than 10-15 mph. I'm taking it in

You need to visit the dealership and sort out the issues. This is not something that you should be doing in a brand new car (unless you like doing that). Get the dealer to apply whatever reflash / upgrade is needed. Maybe you should pm @ChryslerCares as well prior to the dealer visit and it should help too. Good luck and keep us updated.

Update on Surround Cameras

Been to the dealership 4 times to try and fix multiple problems on my 1 month old Pacifica
1. Surround cameras would freeze up intermittently. More specifically, I would select the surround camera screen and the cameras would display correctly on the ucconect display but I could not select a different camera view or even exit the camera view. The only way that I could get out of the display was to select reverse (then the rear camera would display.

2. ACC /FCW / Lane Sense warning/inoperability

Took it in they fixed problem 2 by replacing the Fwd Camera and they said it would fix problem 1. It didn't.

Took it back in to fix problem 1. While trying to fix it they discovered my USB port to upload Ucconect S/W was inoperative. they replaced the USB port, uploaded some S/W and that didn't fix it. Next, they replaced the entire radio and that didn't fix it, even though they claimed it did.

Subsequently, I figured out how to duplicate the problem:

The problem occurs only after I select a movie to display on the front screen. Once a movie has been selected, I can exit out of the movie, select a bunch of other options and they all work fine, but once I select the surround cameras the Ucconect system freezes. After about a half a day the problem goes away.

I'm taking it back to the original dealer (2 hrs away) and try and get them to fix it.

Anyone have an Email address for Chrysler cares?

Just hit the assist button about same issue.
Same feeeze up exactly. If I select surround camera from the apps list, same inability reaction to touch. Can not exit, etc etc. Soft touch does not change camera view and so on.
Maybe we have the only two Vans that do this !
If your problem still exists, can’t really see myself wasting hours of my life I won’t get back until they fix the software. ( that’s my opinion by the way, that’s it’s software not hardware)
I can live with a static camera view for now.

Nope, I also ran into this problem today. I know for a fact that it use to work several months ago. Unfortunately I don't drive this vehicle that often. I wonder if there is a way to determine what firmware is on there? At the same time I wonder if I can roll it back. I see a reset option... might need to try that.

I have the EXACT same problem under the same scenarios, so it doesn't seem to be a one-off issue. Dealer replaced the touchscreen this week, but it didn't fix the problem. Sent ChryslerCares a PM as well. Let's hope for a resolution!

Has anyone gotten this fixed yet? I am hesitant to send the van to the dealer again without some hint of what might be the cause. I don't want to have the van is shop for a few days just to have them replace the touchscreen again and end up with the same problem.

I bought a Pacifica Limited yesterday afternoon and noticed that I had the same issue this morning.
Pretty sure I tested all of the soft touch options on the test drive.
My kids were watching a dvd on the school run this morning so there appears to be a pattern emerging.
If I select surround camera I will get the rear camera view whilst stationary or reversing. If I drive forward under a few mph it shows the front camera view.
Nothing happens if I try and select the other camera views. I didn't try and exit out of the screen, I simply drove off and it switched the camera view off.

I have to believe if there are 5 or 6 of us that are experiencing this problem that this is a widespread problem. Some analytics guy on here could probably come up with the stats as a percentage of owners who join a forum vs percentage that don’t, and the number related to problems reported vs problems lived with, etc etc... this will be fixed ?
this is a quirky problem but we are all experiencing the exact same problem. It’s really sounds like software related.
One thing I haven’t tried was to “power off” the DVD players from the main screen (drivers) then try to access the surround cameras... anyone ?

Hi Timbort#4, ChicagoSammo, and MNUser,

We are sorry to hear that you are all experiencing a similar concern with the backup cameras on your vehicle. Please send us a private message with your VIN, mileage, and dealer once you have an appointment set for your dealer to address this concern. We would be happy to provide an additional layer of assistance while your vehicles are in service.

Hi Darlene... thanks for the offer, but unfortunately I don’t have unlimited time to waste at the dealers. When it’s a unknown problem as you already know they just enter the info and wait for the tech guys to figure it out. I believe you may already have enough “genuine” info from the people on here to pass along. I’m sure that the IT guys can figure this out. Maybe one of the other people wish to be a guinea pig, but I’ve been down this road way too many times to bite this time. It’s(for me) really a minor inconvenience, and unlike some on here, my van is basically a one man show all week long with occasional family in the back on weekends using the DVD’s.
I do appreciate the fact you are on here and able to provide assistance to those who need it or require it.
Cheers ?

Update from FCA

After a new radio and multiple S/W updates( and no fix) The Dealership has informed me that the FCA engineers plan on developing a S/W fix/update for this particular issue by Mid-June. The specific problem they are addressing is, "camera freeze if you are inside the Ucconnect app (aka listening in or trying to select something for the aft screens via the front) and you then select to reverse". The camera's will freeze and the only way to exit is to come out of reverse.

I explained that that's not specifically my problem, but I assume based on S/W logic that if I attempted that I'd get the same problem to occur. They claimed it will fix "all" ucconect up front app "issues" that are related to the surround cameras.

I'll keep you posted.

Can anyone with this issue go and put their VIN in the Uconnect update page and give us the result?
https://www.driveuconnect.com/support/software-update.html Public site for all FCA vehicles. This site is a good resource. I use it on peoples vehicles before I use a different program that will search for dealer updates.
Sometimes you'll run into an update that is required to be corrected at a dealership only. Dealers get a pittance/nothing for some vehicle USB updates. So some dealers will see it as a non-warranty work order and something to cash in on. Other dealers will do it in front of the dealership for free. An update could be 20 minutes to put on a USB flash drive. Then 2 minutes to install. For the required dealer warranty updates they are often paid .2 of a hour. It can take .3 of an hour just to download the update and 10 minutes to update and test the radio.
I cringe when I hear people charged for some of the quick settings fix. Like a 'A/C not working.' 'The snowflake wasn't pushed. 45 dollars please.' *shudder*

This happened to us this morning. I first noticed something was up when the cameras did not active when I put the van in reverse to back out of our garage. Pressing the controls on the touchscreen had no effect. I turned off the van once I got to work and then turned it back on to see if that would fix it; nope. I tried again at lunch time and the cameras now work. I'm guessing that momentarily turning the van off does not immediately power down the Uconnect. This feels like a software bug.

Also, my Uconnect software is up to date according to driveUconnect.com. The van had an over the air update this weekend.
