The 2017 Chrysler Pacifica and Pacifica Hybrid are the first of their nameplate. With a long list of safety features, standard and optional high-tech equipment, and a full slate of comfort and convenience technologies, it is a modern minivan that attempts to shirk the soccer mom, mundane reputation that the body style has come to be known for.

“The all-new 2017 Chrysler Pacifica is truly a no-compromises minivan, giving customers everything they need or want,” said Timothy Kuniskis, Head of Passenger Car Brands, FCA – North America. “We started from the ground up to design the most technologically advanced minivan, which offers bold styling, class-leading ride and handling, and unmatched fuel economy, with the Pacifica Hybrid delivering up to 80 miles per gallon equivalent (MPGe) in city driving. The all-new Chrysler Pacifica was thoughtfully designed and engineered to provide unsurpassed levels of comfort, convenience, technology and functionality, making it the perfect combination for modern families.”
Powertrains:

The Pacifica will be offered with the choice of two different powertrains. One is a 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6 that delivers 287 horsepower and 262 lb-ft of torque. The hybrid powertrain provides 30-miles of all-electric range, and an efficiency rating of 80 MPG-e in the city based on EPA standards.

Features:

Advanced features, standard and available options, include 360-degree Surround View camera system, parallel/perpendicular park assist, adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning system and a lane departure warning system with steering wheel correction. Other standard and available features include Blind-spot Monitoring, ParkSense rear park assist with stop, ParkView rear backup camera, electronic stability control and electric park brake. Up to five seats are setup for LATCH child-safety seat installation.
Release:

The Pacifica will have six trims for the gasoline powered model, and will be in dealerships in Spring of 2016. The Pacifica Hybrid, will have a distinct front grille and wheel design, and is scheduled to arrive in dealerships in the second half of 2016.

Chrysler put a lot of though into configuring and using the cabin space which is what I know will be a massive selling point to families, anything that makes the process easier and efficient is highly valued. Looks like FCA will have a segment leader here.

It's good news for FCA, and thank gosh they made it fuel efficient because normally minivans aren't so, and FCA doesn't need any more high fuel consumption vehicles as volume sellers.

The minivan segment generally isn't very popular right now though, so winning it isn't exactly getting a very big prize. Do you think the Pacifica is great enough to lure more people to the segment? People who might otherwise buy a SUV?
