The TPMS is showing 45-46 PSI for all four wheels on my Pacifica which I just picked up. This is much higher than the 36 PSI on the door label.
I have the 18 inch wheels and it came with Michelin Premier 235/60R18 tires.

Should I let some air out? Or just enjoy the firmer tires and presumably small bump in fuel economy? The ride seems fine to me.

For some reason they come out of the factory with overinflated tires. Mine was the same way. I immediately let some air out and adjusted the pressure to the recommended 36 PSI. I would encourage you to do the same, overinflated tires can be dangerous as you are reducing the size of the the patch that's in contact with the ground.

Apparently, some dealers do reduce the air during the cleanup/inspection process. Ours was set at 36 when we picked it up, others here talk about getting theirs over-inflated. Yeah, there's been much discussion here about driving with over or under inflated tires.

Does the wheel and tire size matter? For instance....I've got a fairly high profile tire on my 17" wheels where somebody has a lower profile tire on the 20" wheels, does that change the optimal pressure?

The factory ships vehicles with overinflated tires to prevent flat spots in case the vehicles end up sitting for a while. Dealers are supposed to adjust the air pressure before delivering them to customers, but most seem to miss this step. You should absolutely adjust the air pressure to the recommended 36 psi.

I believe all Pacificas are recommended to run 36 psi regardless of which wheels and tires they came with, so in this case, I would say wheel and tire size does not matter.

Heavens, YES! Traction and stopping distance suffer with overinflated tires. You're missing out on quite a bit of tread contact at pressures that high!

Mine (same wheel and tire combos as yours) came inflated around 37 or 38 psi each -- not enough difference to cause much concern. Anything over that is unsafely high IMO.

Just checked out my 2 week old Limited on 20's and all were at 45! The question is do I fire off a 2 sentence email to my dealer to complain or just take a breath an move on..... they are the ones who bugged me daily for a week making sure everything was ok

Mine were also delivered with 45psi. Let the air out to 36, what an improvement in ride quality!

Mine were high too. The sales guy comically said to me "OK, they are at 44 psi, just where they should be for winter". Uhhh...no.
I do love that on the Limited I can see the actual tire pressure, just like in my 05 Odyssey. I love it!!!

Yup that's when Honda started to de-content the Odyssey. But if the new TPMS on the Ody is like the Pilot, it totally outclasses the Pac's. When you put air in the tires on the Pilot, it'll honk at you when you reach the correct pressure! Nice.

For that deal, yeah I probably wouldn't have quibbled either ... though I might have asked "how about I pay the $179 and in return the tires are inflated with regular old low-cost air before I take delivery?"

When I picked up my Limited the tires were at 42psi on all four tires. Is the recommend 36 psi the cold tire psi for the standard stock 18" tires/wheels that came on the Limited? What should I expect the psi to be if the car has been running/driven?
