Hi,
I searched a few different threads but didn't find my exact issue.

I have a 17 with 37K miles on it and the screen won't respond to any touch. I called UConnect support and was told to do a soft reset and update. I can't update because I can't confirm the update on the screen. The support person ensured me I didn't need to touch the screen to update, he was wrong.

All others functions work and the screen responds. I can do voice commands, change volume and stations on the wheel, use the knobs below for volume, screen off, tuning the station.

I pulled the fuse, disconnected the battery for a bit....still no luck.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance!

Had a similar problem in a car (non pacifica but a Chrysler product) after the driver window was broken from a vandalism. After all repairs were made (glass replaced, interior cleaned, trim replaced from broken glass) the center touch screen didn't work. After some inspection, found a piece of glass wedged between the trim that goes around the screen and the screen. In other words, the screen thought it was being touched all the time. Not sure if this is your problem but maybe a place to start looking. Good Luck.

Check the UConnect and Mopar websites and put in your VIN to find out if updates are available. I think that you are supposed to be able to use a USB to transfer the update from the computer to the van USB slot under the touchscreen. Here are some threads to check if you haven't already read them.

If you put your van info (year, trim, gas/hybrid, etc.) in the signature line of the UserCP it will show up at the bottom of each post and help others assist you better.

...I don't think that problem or repair would be found in a service manual...

Actually, before the piece of glass was found, I used the Chrysler scan tool (WiTech2) to see if there was any trouble codes in the radio for diagnosis and there was a trouble code in the system (don't remember what code it was) and the pinpoint test from Chrysler did say to check for anything that was touching the screen.

Is this for the 5in or 8.4 UConnect? If the larger one have you tried to reboot it by pressing & holding the mute & enter buttons from the 2 dials below it until the screen shuts off? I believe that forces a soft reboot of the system.
