Touring L. Initially, it was the L plus and limited. Now the more reasonable prices touring L gets the tow package as an option. Yeah.
It's interesting that Chrysler touts the Pacifica as having a towing capacity of 3600 pounds, but the trailer hitch they put on it only has a towing capacity of 3500 pounds. I know it's only 100 pounds difference, but the inconsistency is weird.3- Class II Hitch with 2 -Inch Receiver. The Class II receiver hitch available on the Chrysler Pacifica models is a weight-carrying hitch rated up to 3,500 pounds of Gross Trailer Weight (GTW) with a maximum trailer tongue weight of 300 pounds.
Then when you look in the Owner's Manual, it says the towing capacity is 3600 pounds, but to reduce that by 100 pounds if you have in-floor seat storage. Huh? Don't ALL Pacificas (except the hybrid) have in-floor seat storage?
If the asterisk wasn't there for the seats, I would think they'd have to replace it with another asterisk that says that the hitch itself is limited to 3500 pounds. If there was no asterisk at all, they would have to use a hitch with a capacity of at least 3600 pounds, which would make it more than Class II, but not enough to be considered Class III. That would be confusing (not that it isn't already). For all intents and purposes, the towing capacity of the Pacifica with the tow package is 3500 pounds. They should just remove all references to 3600 pounds to avoid confusion.I have a question: If the manual did say 3600 pound GTW towing capacity, without the asterisk reducing it to 3500 pounds then wouldn't the Trailer Tow Package need to include a more expensive and heavier class 3 hitch since class 2 hitches are generally rated up to 3500 lbs.
Haha. Their main competitors are both 3500 pounds. Call me cynical but......They should just remove all references to 3600 pounds to avoid confusion.
In that case, they should advertise that the Pacifica can tow 10,000 pounds, but put an asterisk that says if your Pacifica has wheels, reduce the capacity to 3500 pounds.Haha. Their main competitors are both 3500 pounds. Call me cynical but......
I don't have a pic of mine handy, but here's a pic that I found online. I like the integrated look much better than an add-on hitch below the bumper.any one has pic with back end view, I would like to know what it looks like, and does rear waive your foot to open still works?
Sorry for the bad lighting! Yes, you can still use your foot. You need to go on either side of the hitch for it to work correctly!any one has pic with back end view, I would like to know what it looks like, and does rear waive your foot to open still works?
