I’ve been fighting my dealership over an issue I’ve been having since January. When I spoke to a Chrysler Cars advocate, they told me they would cover it. The they backtracked and said no. To date the dealership has had my car 4 out of the 8 months this year. And still I have transmission issues. They replaced a coil at the tune of $400. And then it failed. The dealership then said it was a simple tune up needed. Now they are saying I need to replace the headers. On a 2017 Pacifica, really? I’m really thinking I’ve got a lemon. Any advice before I contact a lawyer?

In your previous thread you did not give any details of what transmission issues you are having. More information might help us steer you in the right direction.

I would not say you have a lemon, unless these issues have been there since you bought the vehicle in 2017. In which case, I believe you would have had to make a claim at that time.

You are confusing.
In this thread you title it transmission troubles, then mention coil and headers - which have ZERO to do with transmission, and in another thread you mention 'throttle injection service' - which is a TOTAL RIP-OFF.
You ramble in your complaints, and the dealer seems to be an incompetent crook.
Try another dealer.

I'm looking for help not criticism. I have had the car since 2017. I have had a number of issues, with the most recent being the transmission issue. The light goes on, I head to the dealership. They say they can't find anything wrong. The light is rest. I have done that 3 times. I then go in and talk to the service manager who mysteriously finds an issue with a coil that should solve the issue. That was almost $400. A week later, the light comes back on again. They say that the coil they put in was bad. They then say that I need a tune-up and that will solve the issue. I chose not to have it done by them. The next day, light came back on again. I went back to the dealership for them to say that I need to replace my headsets and cams. All of this has kept my van at the dealership for 4 of the 8 months this year.

Previous issues were listed in the first post.

Hope I did't confuse you too much.

Snark will not induce help.
You have a dealer ripping you off. If you are paying, (no warranty) ask around for a good independent mechanic - at the very least, go to a different dealer.

If you put your van info in the signature line of account settings it will show up at the bottom of your posts and will help us answer your questions easier in the future. What is the build date of your van (on edge of driver's door)? How many miles are on your van?

Was the Chrysler person you talked to from the FCA number I mentioned in another thread?

Was the light a check engine light? I don't think there is a transmission light. What type of transmission problems are you having? The simplest temporary fix is having the transmission adaptations reset (software, no parts) for rough shifting.

Was there a code from the OBD reader that they mentioned? An auto parts store can read codes for you. Some people on the forum understand them. I had a check engine light that gave a code for a small evap leak that was related to a purge valve that was fixed after a couple of tries.

I agree with others about your dealer's service department and would go elsewhere. The engine problems you've mentioned seem rare on the forum.

Lemon laws vary by state and tend to apply to the first year or two. There might have been some Lemon Law info with the paperwork and owner's manuals when you got your van.

I can understand that you are frustrated and may just be venting. If you have a specific question let us know.

What light is reset by the dealer? Is there any messages displayed along with this light? Does the transmission seem to be working correctly? ie Are all shifts smooth?
