Since the lower trim level Pacificas only offer a six month trial of the Uconnect my Touring-L subscription will expire later this month. My question to those whose subscription has expired or about too, did you renew or are you going too, and why? I'm thinking of NOT renewing, but if I hear strong enough arguments as to why I should, maybe I'll reconsider. It does seem rather pricey.

I'm in a similar situation. Ours just recently expired, and I haven't renewed. Really, I haven't missed it too much, which makes me think I was right to not renew.

If anyone can persuade me to renew, I might reconsider. If not, well, I get to save a little $$ and put it toward the renewal of SXM radio when that expires later this year.

I still have a whole until mine expired, but I won't renew it. The only feature I use is the car locating feature in the app. I can use remote start on my key fob, and the fact that I have no inkling as to what other features uConnect offers says more than enough about its worth to me.

My thoughts exactly, I don't see any feature that would warrant the $15 a month expense, and good call on putting that $$ toward SXM radio, although to me even that doesn't seem to be as good as in the past. Seems like a lot of repetition of the play list, at least on YachtRock(Ch 311) and the Bridge (Ch 32), two stations that I like.

I have used the Send N' Go a couple of times, which is a nice feature, but not for $15 a month, we'll use my wife's IPhone and get locations from the Yellow pages. As for Yelp, Pandora etc. never tried em, so I guess I won't miss them.

Just renewed my Uconnect subscription after my free 1 yr. @ $149.99, then at final checkout they added $30 of taxes and surcharges! A 25% addition.

Well, I'm budget wise and I was not willing to renew it but as a matter of fact I did.

Reason - it saved my car once. It was stolen in few weeks of ownership and I located it with UConnect and sent police there that led to recovery of my van.
So, no issue for me to have it, yes, I think it quite not cheap but I still use other features like remote lock/unlock as well as remote start to get AC going.

It like insurance - you pay each month and questioning why you do that. But Im sure you supper happy to have it in case of an accident, when you need it the most.

FWIW, I have had SiriusXM since I bought my Odyssey new in 2012. I have never paid more than $5 per month for that service. You just have to tell the sales pest on the phone that it's too much (about $15 asking price) and just cancel the service. They won't let you go. You'll get a $10 offer, don't bite. They always eventually get to the six months for $30 "new customer offer". Take it! If they do not offer that, just quit. In a couple of weeks you'll get a "PLEASE COME BACK" offer in the mail for $30 for six months. Just be sure to mark your calendar for the expiration date, as the fine print allows them to charge you $15 after the six months is up. Then you do the dance all over again!

I don't know yet if it is that easy with their auto connection service, but I have heard it is negotiable.

I do the same with SiriusXM, but opt for a year at $99. That's a fair enough price for me and I don't have to do that dance twice a year.

I continue to be a little mystified as to if the Uconnect Trial Subscription was the reason I was receiving Text Notifications on my Uconnect Screen via my iPhone 7 Plus, or if that capability continues after the Trial discontinues. When I did receive Notification from Uconnect about receiving a Text/Message, I could "Play" the Message and then just hold the Voice button to record my Reply. Lately the Texts/Messages are no longer coming through the Uconnect Screen and I don't know if that is due to the iOS 12 / 12.1 Updates or due to the Uconnect Trial discontinuing. In looking at my iPhone Settings I have noticed Text Forwarding capabilities such that whatever is received or sent from my iPhone will be also on my other devices can be individually setup. On my iPhone Settings for example my MacBook Air, and iMac as well as my iPhones show up and can be toggled on or off. I haven't experimented as yet to see if I can get the Texts to show up again on the Uconnect or not. I did read all the "Features" listed as coming with the Uconnect Subscription and none of them sound like the feature I am now missing. I would certainly not pay $15 per month for the Features they list.

I had the same dilema in my last vehicle. I chose to decline renew.

For one thing Uconnect is REALLY slow it takes 10 to 15 seconds just for the app to be fully available then I have to wait until 30 seconds to a minute for it activate locks and remote start. Frustrating. It's not my phon either its the slowest app I have by a long shot.

Cool yes, its it worth it.. my key fob can do everything why do I need this from an app?

I would say no. I have had cars going back to late 90's with ALL of these features via high end alarm systems.. but how often did I REALLY use it.. almost never. It's a 'hey guys watch this' feature at lunch for those that have not seen my car, after that. Not much use.

Therefore I would decline I will as well.

MAYBE if the app wasn't so bad I would reconsider but something I rarely use and it will be frustrating, no thanks.

Those are notifications from the app itself. If you are receiving texts those are from the site, probably you will still get text notifications but if you don't renew obviously those features go away.

+1 here. Always mark calendar so I can call SXM just before service automatically renews and tell them I want to cancel rather than let it renew. I seem to recall, however, that the $25 deal I was getting was only good for five months, not six. Anyway, we transferred our account from our previous Town & Country to the Pacifica, so now my calendar has an entry to call SXM after the one-year free trial ends (they have a note on the account to then continue to honor the $25 plan).

And +1 to being curious if such a deal can be made with UConnect.

I can't wait for the trial to expire, so the "severe weather" warnings for random places hours away from me would stop.
I think those come from the Sirius travel link -- 3 or 5 years on mine.....

I don't use the app, so mine just quit after a year. But I use the voice recognition to reply to text messages (SMS only) quite a bit, although the results sometimes are funnier than auto-correct. Renewing was an easy (but costly) choice for me, just for that.

Also, despite earlier guidance to the contrary from @ChryslerCares, when U-connect expires both the 911 button and ASSIST buttons seemed to stop working. I rarely use ASSIST, but I have used 911 to report accident scenes that I have happened on in the past and I would not give up that resource. Unfortunately, unlike On-Star, it would seem the 911 feature is NOT automatically triggered by air bag deployment according to what I have heard, and that is a big downcheck in my book.

My Uconnect service is up for renewal next month and I’m planning to not renew it. I do not see any advantage in paying for a service which I hardly ever use. I do like the “send to navigation service” though. All the other functions I can do with my remote. My question is; when I cancel the Uconnect Service, do I have to separately call to cancel the SiriusXM or it is automatically canceled along with that?

Has anyone received a "save" offer for this highly overpriced service? @ChryslerCares -- If you're listening your marketing folks need to really revisit this product offering.
As I mentioned before I was ready to cancel the Uconnect subscription, but got a phone call today from Sirius XM offering to continue the services for a further three months for $2.14 (yes... two dollars and some change). I was waiting for the catch but apart from the fact that it will auto renew afterwards in three months I didn't get any so far. So I took up on the offer and extended the services since I am planning on a few trips during this holiday season. I will await the confirmation email to see if there is anything else going on.
They reminded me that after the three months it will auto renew @ $26.xx / month.
If anyone else has got this offer, please let me know your experience and thoughts on this. Thanks.
