I’m new to this system and looking for some guidance.

I would like to play movies from a USB stick. What website do you use to find movies and what program to reformat them?

What extension files work with Uconnect? MP4?

Tried streaming from Apple 7phone but it won’t connect to the van. (Screen mirroring won’t find the van)

Any guidance would be appreciated

cheers

Thank you. Do you know if there is a file size limit per movie? Will AC3 format work?

I believe it seems to work reliably for files under 2GB. This is another good thread

Use Handbrake (free software) to convert movies.

Handbrake can rip from DVDs. Or if you have video files you can use those.

There's a configuration profile for Handbrake that has the optimal settings.

I think it's floating around here, if you can't find it I can post it later.

Edit this is the one I used. There's a 480p setting floating around but this one is better as it is 720p.

For drive use those Samsung Fit drives. They work well and are super low profile.

This is great. Any idea why iPhone is not compatible with streaming?

iPhone only supports airplay so it’s a closed Apple ecosystem. UConnect supports Miracast that just about all android phones support for wireless casting.

That fit drive is too small!
Had it for 2 days and already lost it.
