I purchased my hybrid in October 2017...since then it has been at the dealer 4 times. 3 times specifically related to the uconnect system asking for a code and locking me out of the radio/controls/climate/car play/ etc. I have had 2 instances where red lines appear vertically across they screen and a horrible noise happens. They service department have been wonderful...my file is literally over 1/2" thick with their attempts to talk to someone and find out how to fix this. They replaced my unit after the first visit...but it has been back 2 times since then.

NOW it is at the dealer because the fuel door will not close and subsequently the check engine light goes on.

I LOVE the gas mileage, the way the pacifica hybrid drives, all the bells and whistles....but obviously I cannot drive a car that does not work and I cannot keep paying payments on a car that is constantly at the dealer....HELP!!!!:|

I may be saying the obvious and you may know this - Asking for the code could be related to not pressing the brake and hitting the start/run for two times which puts car in ready mode and can start driving. i had it happen to me and that was the reason I found it went in to check code mode. I let it timeout overnight and it went away in my case.

I wish mine were that simple!! Unfortunately my issues have happened while driving the car as well as when first starting it up. The dealer has been able to repeat the problem but has no solution. And I have also lost all controls...meaning even my manual climate control buttons and dials had no affect on the actual climate settings. Very frustrating!

Hi hlamrms,

Sorry to hear about your concerns with your vehicle. Our Uconnect team is aware of the Anti Theft Code pop up and are working to provide a resolution to customers as soon as possible. Also, I have recently commented on a thread regarding the red lines and have requested anyone experiencing this please send us their VIN so I can include it when I escalate this issue for further review.

I've had the anti-theft code popup as well. It only locked me out once for about an hour. I will see it almost every time if I push start (no foot on break) to enter ACC mode. It will tell me to start the car to use the radio, so push start again (again without foot on break). Its annoying but hasn't been too painful so far.

I have tried to replicate the problem by pushing start twice without my foot on the brake ever since I read your post, but it hasn't caused the radio to lock up or act wrong in any way. I have had the black screen a couple of times and the red lines once, but neither were related to run (but not ready) mode.

And I should mention, every time was the first start in the morning.

I have the black screen/theft code issue too. Happened twice and I think it’s when I press Start before stepping on brake.

Goes away after I turn van off and then start while depressing brake to go I to Run mode.

I don’t want to try to reproduce it as I’ve read other owners getting locked out

Where do I ask for the anti-theft code?

The dealer service department has to get it for you by entering your head unit serial number into their database. Mine supplied it to me upon request.

Hi everyone,

Good news, an Over the Air update has been released for 2018 Pacificas and Pacifica Hybrids that includes a fix for the Anti-Theft code pop up:

"NUMBER: 08-014-18
GROUP: 08 - Electrical
DATE: February 1, 2018

SUBJECT:
UAV, UCV with RDH or RFD Radio Over The Air Software Updates

MODELS:
2018 (RU) Chrysler Pacifica

NOTE: This bulletin applies to vehicles within the following markets/countries: NAFTA (U.S. and Canada).
NOTE: This bulletin applies to vehicles built on or before January 23, 2018 (MDH 0123XX) equipped with Uconnect 4C NAV With 8.4( Display (Sales Codes UAV or UCV) with 760 Watt Amplifier (Sales Code RDH) or 506 Watt Amplifier (Sales Code RFD).

SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
Customers may experience one or more of the following:
• PHEV vehicles may intermittently not charge when using the scheduled charging feature instead of “Charge Now” button.
• When shifting to reverse, the radio displays blue/black lines instead of the rear view camera and is followed by a reset.
• Radio stays on with key ”OFF” and drains battery.
• Radio reboots multiple times when a Samsung J-7T phone is connected for charging only.
• Audio System starts up with the anti-theft screen.
• Radio processor freezes while the navigation screen is loading.
• Back-up camera remains live when shifted out of reverse beyond the intended delay feature."

This update is in the process of being rolled out regionally across the United States, unfortunately we do not have an ETA for when it will reach certain regions/vehicles. At this time this update is not available for download at your dealership or via driveuconnect.com.

Hi hlamrms,

Sounds like I have been experiencing very similar, if not the same, issues with my Uconnect interface not working as you are. The problem seems to appear randomly, but has occurred at least a dozen times in the first 2 months that I've owned my 2018 Pacifica Hydrid. I sometimes get the pop up screen asking for the anti-theft code as do you, which locks me out of all Uconnect interface applications. But other times its just that I have been locked out of my climate control, or my seat heaters, and/or even volume and radio functions. I live in Canada, and not having the ability to adjust climate control is NOT SAFE during these winter conditions. My dealership has been reasonably helpful and have finally acknowledged there is a problem, but have advised they don't know how to correct it. On the other hand, dealing with FCA (Canada's Chrysler division) has absolutely useless - one of the worst customer service experiences I've even had.

I am not as cold as you are that is for sure...but cannot drive it here either when the climate is not working. Plus---i paid for the "extras" and they may not be necessary but i SHOULD be able to use them! Our local service team is doing all they can it seems. I think we may look into the lemon law. I have had this car for 4 months and have had it at the dealer for almost 1/4 of that time. No one should have to make payments on a car they cannot drive!

I'm experiencing the same issues as above with the anti-theft popping up and the Uconnect NAV constantly shutting on and off every few minutes. My Pacifica is brand new and I've only had it for literally two weeks and the issue just started happening last night.

Hi, Jasmine,

As on 4/15/2019, more than 2 months since your last post here, I am still have the similar issue on the anti-theft code issue.

The issue started since the beginning about a year ago, I have my van battery replaced last May. Then have my van in the shop for almost 3 months for the transmission replacement. I took my van to dealer this January complained this issue. But the tech there seems no clue about it. Instead, got the new software loaded.

I just pick up my nerve to search such issue again in the forum, and found the thread.

My Pacifica VIN is: 2C4RC1N72JR118665, current mileage is 9301 miles.

My another issue is the Uconnect app or even the MOPAR web login didn't syn to the van to gather most current info.

Thank you.
