Yesterday I purchased the uconnect navigation and am pretty disappointed with it. It gave proper directions to initial two places but then I put in detailed address (street name, number, city) of a local restaurant which was just 2 miles away and it was showing directions to some place which was 10 miles away in totally opposite direction. As i already knew the restaurant place, I quickly realized the mistake else would have ended in a far off place. I rechecked the address twice and it was correct. I feel it is very risky to rely on this if planning to travel to some far place. Better you cross check with other maps to make sure, it is showing the right direction.Else, you may be driving your family to a park but may end up at a night club

I don't use the Uconnect Navigation system that came in my Platinum Hybrid. I put my iPhone in a mount next to the screen and use Waze instead. It is much more accurate, updated constantly, and provides real-time traffic conditions that the Uconnect Nav doesn't have.

I've had that happen on my other nav equipped cars. Sometimes, a street will have an cardinal point in its name. So that when searching, for example "Main Street" there might be an east or west "Main Street" and the nav chooses the wrong one. Might that have caused the wrong directions?

In Houston, its really frustrating because we have 3 "loops" around the city center, and the nomenclature of the address is for example 1000 South Loop West. Or 1000 South Loop East!

The address was something like 123 S xyz blvd. I double checked to make sure it had taken correct address including the city name but it still seemed to show a destination 10 miles in opposite direction.

You should try it without the "S."

I would also try using the UConnect app on your phone to locate the place. It's much easier to look at the maps on the phone to determine if it has found the correct location or not. You can even locate it using Google maps or something similar and then copy addresses or locations into the UConnect app (for places that you aren't sure of the exact address). Once found by the app, it's easy to send the location to UConnect in the car.

We did this on our last road trip and it was super simple. Just let the passenger find locations, even while moving, and send them to the car. You get correct locations and no limitation on entering a new location while moving.
