I haven't had a ton of time to mess around with the Uconnect feature on our Limited, but did try to play a DVD and haven't quite figured it all out. I will grab the user's manual tomorrow and read up on it, but hoped to get a little insight first :grin2: (so I won't have to read to much perhaps!)

Our grandkiddos aren't old enough to use headphones - touch the screen - or use the remote - so ... I assumed I could pop a DVD in and they could watch and listen from the backseat, while hubs and I listened to the radio up front. When I tried the DVD - it played on the front screen (and on the back ones as well) and the sound came from all of the speakers - is that normal?

Is there a way for the kiddos to listen (without headphones) and let us still listen to the tunes on Sirius? And I know there has to be a setting to have the movie show only in the back and not in the front ...

Like I said, I didn't have much time to mess with it - I did hop in the back and tried to set it up using one of the screens, but didn't have much luck.

Any suggestions will be appreciated! TIA!

We got around this problem by getting a speaker like this. It's plugged into the USB and headphone jacks in the back seat and sits in my 2 year old's lap.

I was thinking about getting a set of the same speaker cause I like the clip feature. When you get a sec would you mind seeing if the clip is large enough to fit on the edge of the UConnect screen without flying off? Also, do you know if they fit well in the Super Console drawer?

I have them stored in the Super Console drawer along with the Chrysler first aid kit, so no issue there. Not sure if the clips are big enough for the Uconnect screen, but I'll try it and let you know.

Similar but different question, wife likes to listen to Audio books on CD, is there a way for her to listen in the passenger front seat using the headphones(without having to go to the back seat to hit play on the screen) but I listen to normal Radio/XM while driving?

Yes, and no. She could listen to the CD with headphones while you listen to the radio on the main speakers. However, the wireless IR headphones are directional and won't work from the front seat. Your best bet would be to plug in a pair of wired headphones to the back of her seat. She could control the CD through the Uconnect Theater menu on the front screen and you would still have control over the radio.

@generaltso - thank you for the info on the speaker! I will check into before their next visiti visit! It's great that it fits into the storage drawer nicely!!

"Papa" and I will have to just listen to "Sing" tomorrow while they watch it while enroute from their house... and then once we get to our house we can watch Mickey Mouse House - Little Einsteins - Frozen - Tinkerbell - Pepa Pig and on and on and on and on! LOL! And I'm so happy to be able to do that! Love those kiddos!! Those little sweeties are the reason we own a VAN now!! :)

I have a similar question...We just bought a 2018 Pacifica Limited. The sound in the rear will not play for DVD's. We can use the listen in and hear it on the front speakers but as soon as we deselect the listen in feature there is no sound at all. Can anyone help us with this? The radio I believe works fine it is just with the dvd sound.

Thanks,
Corey

I replied in another thread that this is how it's supposed to work. Each of the two rear screens' audio only comes through its corresponding wireless or wired headphones unless you choose to hear one of the screens' audio through the car's speakers with the "Listen in" feature.

Agree you can listen on all speakers or just the headphones!

After a few months of messing with our DVD player, I've found the same - you can only listen to DIFFERENT things if the backseat is using headphones. We have the headphones listed on Amazon as "Kids Headphones, HD30 Volume Limiting Children Headset with Microphone for Girls Boys and Tablets Computer Laptops IOS Android Smartphone (White/Pink)" (sorry, it wouldn't let me post a link because I'm too new!) because they have a decibel limit for kids. (They appear to be almost half price right now!) It's a little messy because there are cords but I didn't want to worry about things getting too loud when I cannot hear it and know!

I have memorized pretty much every line in Despicable Me 2 and Zootopia because my kids still prefer to listen over the speakers rather than the headphones. But if I tell them it's the headphones or nothing they happily put them on. My prior SUV had Secret Life of Pets STUCK IN IT for the last 7-8 months I drove it. Thankfully it's an adorable little movie and I didn't mind, LOL.
