Do all of those headphones actually work in the Pacifica? The 1-2 slider switch is the older style headphones which, to the best of my knowledge, don't work in the Pacifica. The newer ones that do work have a push button toggle instead of a slider.
I'd like to know this, too. I couldn't get the slider switch ones to work.

If they don't pick maybe because they were closed? I was told 8:30-5:30 pm EST. Also, you are scaring me, maybe I should just ask to have both replace since 1st two are free? My son broke the hinge that holds the earpiece against your head, only on one side, though. Were you given a hard time for the 1st two?

I was calling at 10:00am Eastern. The individual was very rude. He wanted to tell me "look, we just bought Unwired back in June, not my problem if they didn't come with the car". I doubt I will ever see my replacements.

This is a really sad state that Chrysler expects families to purchase the cars with a home entertainment system that breaks randomly due to poor design, and then they don't support the suppliers who built them the product for their dealers to sell. If you have licensed dealers that sell product that you worked with sub-suppliers to design and build into a vehicle with your name on it, you should support it. Period. If that vendor goes out of business, and you continue to sell the product they created, you should assume the warranty on behalf of the customer and find a new supplier.

Did they ever work in the Pacifica even before the battery doors broke? From your pics, they don't look like the right headphones for the Pacifica.

I'd be all over the class action. My second pair is now breaking again under normal use at the battery compartment. Replacements at $100 each is highway robbery! There is a known design issue and nothing is being done about it but forcing us to spend $200 every 4-6 months. They either need to change the design or give up the IR frequencies to a third party so cheaper replacements can be made. It's unfortunate they changed the IR from standard design just to hold their customers hostage!

Have you considered using a small amount of black sugru to reinforce the problem area? I love this stuff, it can be found on amazon.

I have three headphones that have all broken in the exact same spot on the battery cover. We've had the van for 7 months. This is absolutely a design issue. The headphones that came with my 09 T&C lasted nearly 8 years.

Battery covers are junk

We got our Pacifica in December and within a few months one of the covers broke in half with no dropping or other damage. I was told this was not covered by warranty. Just last week the other headset's cover broke while by son was wearing them and the batteries just fell out. Chrysler needs to do a recall on these headphones and replace them with a better design.

Delphi was a bust, they will only support the initial set sold with the automobile. The guy was actually quiet rude.

The dealership will not help me. (told me to call Chrysler)
Chrysler will not help me. (told me to call uConnect)
The uConnect support will not help me. (told me to call Delphi)
Delphi will not help me (told me to call Dealership)

Round and round on a 50 cent piece of plastic door that has been poorly designed. Is anyone interested in starting a class action? Do not dispose of broken headphones, I may make a YouTube video like "United destroys guitars" did and see if we can get traction. Please PM me pictures of your broken headphones.
Not a bad idea. As a lawyer, I would support one. Chrysler should have chose a reliable supplier with a quality product. I'm even having issues with my Blu-Ray player constantly rebooting. The UConnect Theater was a big reason we went with the Limited model. Kids aren't happy, wife and I are distracted while driving, we're not happy!

My headphones broke in the same exact place. The plastic is failing from the spring under the battery putting pressure on it. This had to be a bad design. I'd be more than happy to send you a pic.

OK this is a very long thread so I admittedly didn't read all of it (sorry!)

We had an '07 Grand Caravan with Koss headphones which had a lifetime guarantee. In the 10 year we had this van, the headphones broke 3 times (2 battery doors, plus one more serious breakage). All were due to standard wear and tear and not abuse (well, our kids were young then but they didn't throw them or step on them or anything). Koss replaced them for free (a minor handling charge I believe) 2 of the times, the 3rd time they sent us just a new battery door.

I don't know who makes the current headphones, but is there a similar lifetime (or at least long-term) guarantee for the Pacifica headphones? I'm not happy to learn that the battery doors are still so vulnerable 10 years later.

Good idea. Epoxy or JB Weld on the outside might be a good thing for all whose doors haven't broken. Doing mine tomorrow.

Hi tfischer,

You can view the warranty on the headphones in your vehicle on page 660 of your Owner's Manual which you can download from from www.mopar.com. I've attached a screenshot below as well, feel free to PM our page with any additional questions!
