That did happen to me!Is it possible that the contrast or brightness on the rear screens got turned way down?
My Pleasure! I've found that Uconnect, like most other types of computers, benefits from a reboot every once in a while. Thanks for the reboot tip GeneralTso!
I was thinking the same thing. I don't freak when my phone needs to be restarted so I should not so do with UConnect. But is was quite alarming to not have the back up camera and sensors since I have had them since my first Ody in 2005 and I have become dependent on the technology. My Pleasure! The cell phone is a good analogy. As a matter of fact the Uconnect system is running the QNX operating system, which was developed by Blackberry!I don't freak when my phone needs to be restarted so I should not so do with UConnect.

Hello Jokbal,OP were you able to find a solution for this? Screen behind the passenger seat is black even though I can see the movie playing on the main screen and the theatre screen behind the driver. Have an appointment with service on Saturday but if I can resolve it on my own it would be great.
Same issue here lately - front screen on dash is blank but the kids can still watch a DVD in the rear on their screens fine. Very annoying... sent a PM to ChyrslerCares, hopefully this is an easy fix. I'll try the mute reset button combo when I get home later.
I guess like I said I was just hoping for an easy fix like an OTA update for all this (which i'm sure is a stretch for that to actually come to fruition, but one can dream)... because I would guess it's just a software issue and replacing the entire head unit wouldn't necessarily fix it and shouldn't be necessary. Seeing a mouse on the screen sounds interesting...lol. We shall see what chryslercares and the dealer say about all this. For now, fingers crossed. Not to burst your bubble, but just to set some realistic expectations, it's not an easy fix. It's an intermittent issue that plagues the UConnect systems, and various members of this forum, and who knows how many Pacifica owners that are not yet on these forums (those poor people). Some of us have had our radios swapped out to no avail, others have just been waiting for a fix. When my van goes in for the next recall service that is still outstanding, they will be looking at this again for me. Sometimes it's the rear screens, sometimes it one rear screen, sometimes it's the front. According to my dealer, they cannot scan codes after it happens unless you bring it to the dealer with the issue present because the UConnect system doesn't store errors.
My latest issue is a mouse cursor that pops up. It has happened about 3 times since the front screen was replaced. It's a bit humorous in all honesty. The only thing that works when these issues happen is to either power the van off, wait a few seconds, and power back on, or do a manual reset of UConnect. Sometimes one of those solutions works when the other doesn't, and it's not always the same.
Best advice I can give: Work with the Chrysler Cares account here, work with your local dealer, and just have patience that they figure it out at some point. I think that's all the rest of us are doing.
More than likely that screen will need replacing honestly.. they are pretty expensive as well. I'd frankly suggest just getting your kids amazon fire tablets or something and using your hotspot. The screens can be replaced by yourself(if you can do a pick and pull type thing) but sounds like something is wrong with the backlight.Has this issue been figured out? Wife and i bought a 2017 and our passenger rear screen is way darker than the other one even with the brightness setting maxed.
Like, how expensive? Lol.More than likely that screen will need replacing honestly.. they are pretty expensive as well.
