Sometimes when we get in the car, the rear screens are on a menu and kids can't see the video until we select the input. Other times we get in, and the movie is playing full screen just how it was when we got out of the car.

Our kids can't reach the screens. We _never_ want do do anything other than watch a movie from HDMI or from a disc. Why can't UConnect just leave the input alone and not change unless we change it? Am I missing something? What causes the source select menu to pop up sometimes (and hide the video) but not come up other times?

Also, if I turn the screens off, I don't want them to come back on when I start the car. Stay off until I turn you on! But I guess that's a separate complaint...

I think it depends on how long the car is left off. It seems that if you restart the car within 15 or 20 minutes, the movie will just start playing again. If it's longer than that, everything basically resets. Additionally, some discs (especially Blu-rays) have the resume function disabled, which is a real pain.

We've experienced it as well, and I'm not sure it's entirely related just to time. I've seen times when quick restarts didn't work and times where videos resumed after long restarts. I really think it's more likely that some module in the Theater system is resetting at some power-ups, as if a voltage dropout or other issue is causing it to restart. With the amount of detail that automotive OEMs put into their test specifications, I have no idea how a module could function like this and be approved for sale..

That said, we still love having Uconnect Theater and our 2-year-old daughter thinks it's the greatest thing ever. :smile2:

Same issues here. No rhyme or reason that I can pinpoint. Usually I'm not made aware until after I'm in drive. So I have to rely on what my 4 and 6 year old's tell me. I think I just need to be chauffeured around so I can sit in the back and figure it all out. Any takers?

Same issues here. I love the system once videos are playing, yet loathe getting everything going. We have and the same issue with rear screens being on the input select screen. Even when we select DVD for a rear screen it doesn't change. We have to set it to apps, then back to DVD. Also, the system is far too slow, can't skip chapters on DVD or USB (just fast forwards 10-15 seconds)...etc etc etc.

It boggles the mind that something as simple as a media player can be so complicated and hard to use. The DVD player in a car experience should be perfected by now.

Another annoyance... if you remote start the car, the DVD promptly starts to play, but the rear screens don't come on. So when you open the door to buckle in the little ones, the movie is 5 minutes past where you left it, they can hear their favorite part, but can't see anything. You've got to get in and "start" the car before the screens come on and then they may or may not be on a he right mode.

All day yesterday usb movies picked up where they left off. This morning the system couldn't see my usb drive. So I pulled it and reinserted it. and it saw it again. I have a feeling like someone else said, the Theater program is resetting itself. Which is probably why sometimes it doesn't pick up where it left off.
