my 8.4 uconnect wit navigation is fine but I still miss the one I had on my 2013 town and country as it had a 40 gig harddrive for downloading my pictures and my music.
Well, you could always download your music to a low profile 128GB USB flash drive instead and leave it plugged in all the time.

Is it true the UConnect 8.4 you cannot turn the radio off? Only mute? Kind of annoying when you start the engine the radio comes on and have to mute every time.
It is true. If you turn the volume down all the way instead of muting it, it will stay down the next time you start the car.

I have the Uconnect theater and sound, no idea if that is the 8.4 as I don't have the van yet, so you can't download music to the radio???? If so, that sux, I loved that about the last 3 Town and Countrys I had.

Just got our VelvetRed Limited. Is anyone having issues with XM like freezes, slow channel changes, title lagging whats playing or no ability to retain presets past a start/stop event?
Other than that, it is well worth the wait. I'm cheap so its hard to say its worth every penny... :)

Hey, Knucklehead, glad your wait is over. A lot of toys there to play with, huh?

I haven't noticed any XM freezes or slow channel changes on ours and we use XM radio daily. I love the "DVR" capability that lets me listen to favorite songs multiple times.

As to presets changing ... the seat position, outside mirror position and radio presets can be tied to which key FOB is present so my wife and I have noticed that when we both ride together with both FOBs present whoever gets to the van first sometimes sets the radio stations. Rather than figure out how we are supposed to handle that situation, we just set our presets the same. For mirror and seat positions I just tend to hit the memory button on the door as I enter regardless of which key fobs are present.

I kind of stumbled on the radio presets thing tonight. Oddly enough after the dealer had it Monday, I answered an e-mail from uconnect asking for a e-mail verification. Tonight I was able to set the presets with no problem and at least so far they have held.

I did notice that the battery voltage indicator, ignition on not started shows only 12.4 volts. I wonder if I have a bad battery, voltage with the engine running is 13.7 volts but it seems to fluctuate. Too many toys, too new for the dealers to really know it well.

What are you expecting the voltage to be?

I'm trying to figure out why the XM presets keep resetting over a engine start. Is there a battery voltage drop out that forces the radio to get reset? Chrysler doesn't know why it is doing this among other XM radio strangeness. They say order a radio (oops, not available yet), would just hate to be chasing a wild goose when the issue is something not in the radio. If all of them are in the 12.2-12.4 range just prior to starting then this is just normal behavior. Electronic problems are the worst

Are you using 2 different key fobs or sticking with a single fob? You might want to try resetting your seat memory since the presets are tied to that.

Radio not available yet? I thought at least one or two people on this forum already reported having their entire Uconnect systems replaced. I am sure I recall someone had the main 8.4" Uconnect display in the front console replaced but also know that the main Uconnect "radio" box is not right behind or even part of the 8.4 display as in a normal car radio.

I would expect the XM Radio to maintain settings even if the battery got as low as 9 or 10 volts during cold cranking.

I agree, We are just uconnect 8.4nav (no theater). Does everyone get the uconnect disclaimer screen everytime you start the vehicle?

We each have a FOB, gonna check it again today.
My wife is driving it so we'll see what its doing
See if the presets are changing when you switch key fobs. That would definitely do it. I have the same system in my Jeep, and I've found that the presets being tied to the fobs really doesn't work that well. You're better off just having the same presets set for both.
