Hi,

Please I need help - my dealership is being helpless, they said my car needs a software update but I'm not trusting them, I feel like there is a problem in some internal DB at FCA.

Tried to contact ChryslerCares but won't get a reply.

Help!!

It would be useful to know what model, trim level and year you have, whether this is a new or used vehicle and what you have tried doing so far. I take it you have tried pressing the Assist button on the rearview mirror? That is what my salesman had me do when I picked up the vehicle. Doing so put me through to the SiriusXM call center, who were most eager to activate the service and then get me to give them my credit card number for use when the trial period expired.

Hi AZBean, thanks for your reply. Yes sorry, my car is a new Pacifica Hybrid Limited 2018 purchased in May 2018. Pressing the Assist button on the rearview mirror will show indeterminate dots forever (loading screen), gets stuck there.

Try the UConnect website on the computer. Have your VIN available. That might work.

If you click on the User CP red letters next to Log Out in the upper right hand corner of the forum page, you can edit your signature with information about your van. That's how it shows up at the bottom of our posts. You don't have to put your name, just the van info.

Try the UConnect website on the computer. Have your VIN available. That might work.

Mind sharing the exact URL of the UConnect website to activate? In here driveuconnect(dot)com/sirius-xm-guardian(dot)html the only option explained at the bottom of the page is to press the Assist button.

See if any of these websites help. The second website shows a touchscreen. On the page you mentioned (my third website listed) it looked like there were three choices, the second one being the touchscreen and the third one being to call an agent. It does look like three steps, but I think it might be three choices.

Thanks for your help. Unfortunately in all the sites first step is always to press the assist button - if I read correctly the instructions, even to register through the web you have to get a link sent to you through the registration process after pressing the assist button :frown2:

Try the touch screen in case it works. Push the start button twice WITHOUT the brake pedal so that it is in "Run" but the engine doesn't have to be running. Press the Uapps button at the bottom of the touchscreen,

It sounds like the internal cell modem isn't working right and the van can't make contact with the internet. I would try doing a reboot of the UConnect system by pulling and reinserting fuse F76. The fuse box is under the hood, close to the windshield on the driver's side. The key to the fuses is under the lid of the fuse box. If that doesn't do it, then try calling SiriusXM at 844-796-4827. If you still can't get any satisfaction then call Chrysler direct (not through this forum) at 800-247-9753. Maybe they can light a fire under the dealer and get them to actually do something instead of shrugging their shoulders.

You might want to check the Settings app to see if anything is there, but it seems like the apps you need aren't there yet. My touchscreen has ASSIST and AppManager apps on a 2017 gas van touchscreen.

Just called Chrysler direct. They were very kind to inform me that there are other users with the same problem and other problems with UCoonect (like the cameras not working - mine's work fine). Told me they will be pushing an OTA update at the end of September and if that update does not fix my problem they will replace my entire UConnect unit :| hopefully the update will fix my problem (although if it is a modem problem no idea how the update will be downloaded OTA, maybe there is a way to do an update manually with a USB).

There should also be a 4G icon that indicates you have 4G/LTE connectivity. If those aren't there then either you are in a no signal area or your cell modem is not working. Either way you won't be able to get any OTA updates. If so then go bang on the service desk at your dealer. It might be something simple like an antenna that wasn't plugged in. By the way, replacing the radio or examining its connections or lack thereof is really simple. It just snaps right out of the console as a unit.

Thanks for the pointer AZBean. There is actually a 4G icon with a couple of bars lighted on the right side of it. While driving the bars alternate between 2 bars and full signal in periods of around 15 seconds all the time. When trying to purchase WiFi data I get the same loading dots as when pressing the Assist button :crying:

On UConnect screen, try get into settings, I forgot the exact word. Once inside the settings, clear all settings. Then turn off vehicle. Wait for a few minutes, turn on vehicle, press assist button on the rear view mirror. It fixed my issue in June. Doesn’t hurt to try.

3) Turn off the car, wait for a few min and turn on the car again.
4) You should now see a lot more apps including the "Activate Services" in the app screen.
