A couple times we have found the battery so run down not even the interior come on when opening the door, no press brake to start displayed. In both cases the car not been used during the past three days.
Here's the complete story. I am retired so no daily commute needed, we live in a large suburban area meaning most errands are within a couple of miles of home. Is this enough driving to keep the battery charged? The dealer advises a "battery tender".
I'm open for advise!

We are also retired, sometimes not using the Pacifica for days and have never had a battery issue. Modern alternators have enough power to recharge the battery very quickly.
Strongly suggest you get battery tested as it sounds like faulty cells to me.
Also check that something has not been left on (interior light for example).

This sounds like a battery issue to me. I'm not retired, but have a co-worker with a company car who picks me up most days and brings me to work. So, I do not have a daily need for my Pacifica and it has gone as long as 1-1/2 to 2 weeks parked in the driveway and I haven't any problems starting it after sitting that long. I would definitely take it in and have the battery tested.

I've experienced the same problem. There is less than 500 miles on my vehicle. Is it normal for a battery or alternator to go bad so quickly. I've made sure there is nothing being left on or plugged in to cause inadvertent battery drain. Am I missing something or is it as simple as a bad battery?

No, it's not normal, but things can happen even with a new vehicle. Could very well be as simple as a bad battery.

I once had a new Olds Alero that I would find the battery dead as a doornail randomly. The issue turned out to be a bad Body Control Module (BCM) that was constantly drawing power. Once replaced under warranty the issue went away until the BCM went bad again about a year later.

We have a related issue on our =
Pacifica bought new in April 2017 and would love input—dealer cannot solve it, Today was the fourth occurrence (at 6000 miles.)

After driving a short distance (about 15 miles) and leaving the car parked with no appliances turned on and for as little as two hours, the battery won’t crank and we need to get a booster charge to start. Driving the car for even a short distance seems to revive/reset everything so that the next morning, no problem starting.

We just never know when the problem is going to reoccur.

We use the Pacifica for windsurfing, so typically we’re opening and closing doors a lot before we lock up. But I’ previously disengaged the power doors and turned off the interior lights, so even those drains aren’t there.

The dealer just went through the battery, the alternator, and a drain test to make sure that no random module is draining—all testsout 100%.

Any ideas, guys?

Get it checked out again at a different location. It sounds like a bad battery.

My 2017 which I bought June 30 2017 only has 1650 miles on it today. It sets for 3 days sometimes, even 4 days in the winter at freezing temps. Never had a starting problem with it yet. Bad Dophin, sounds like you may have a bad battery, like LongTimeMopar says have it checked somewhere else. If it was me I'd just go and spend the money on a good quality battery.

Do you have a suggestion as to battery brand/specs? Thank you.

I've had good luck with Interstate batteries here in my area. Had two bad batteries with an auto parts store with the word auto in the title and it was their gold (best) series battery. Not sure what the specs are for the Pacifica battery, fortunately haven't had to replace mine yet.

You know the OEM battery is probably the cheapest battery they can source.

I have a Pacifica 2017 and after 5000 miles was on the parking for 2 week, after that battery dead, towing with a lot of problems to pick ups it because was locked and no power.
Aventura Chrysler dealership was take the warranty, my car was seating there for almost a week and the answers was "The battery supplier have not replacement and working hard to get one" Now the dealer said the battery we will expect to be next month ????? DO you believe it?

Chrysler haven't batteries ?
I was working as Tier 1 supplier fro Ford for more than 7 year and I never heard something like this.
Incredible, you have a brand new card and there is not possible to use because Chrysler haven't replacement batteries?
I'm thinking to change the brand.

Contact Chrysler direct at their phone number (Phone: 800-247-9753) and open a case, and report the issue and the dealer. Working with Chrysler thru the dealer in West Palm Beach has been helpful so far. I hope you are able to get this resolved.

I'd Call BS on that line of crap from the Dealer, Definitely do as @Joey398 mentions, let us know what they tell you. There's no way in Heck there isn't a battery they could source for you in the meantime, this is their problem not yours.

Something is wrong, 3 days is not enough time to discharge your battery.

If your car is seating for weeks no used or you are driving enough to charge the battery then yes, a battery tender is a good idea. BTW, there is an option in the dashboard that shows the battery voltage info. You may want to start using that to check if your short trips are enough to charge the battery.

I’m so glad I’m not alone or going crazy. Over the last 6 months our 2017 Chrysler Pacifica battery would die if we went away for the weekend and left it sitting. We kept thinking we must of left a light on or something. We just returned from a 10 day RV trip in which I knew nothing was left on because I doubled checked before we left our car in the RV storage lot. Upon returning from our trip the car wouldn’t start. Chrysler roadside sent 3 different techs and none could get it started. We had to tow it after 6 hours of being stuck in the RV lot with 3 kids. The service center said it happens all the time with these batteries and they have to go around the lot and jump them all the time. They said it’s because the computer is running and updating all the time inside and drains battery. I can’t even believe that is possible! Meanwhile my new car is still in the shop nearly 3 weeks now and they said the battery is back ordered. How can a battery be back ordered on a new car?! Maybe because they are defective? I filed a claim with Chrysler and keep getting the run around. The dealer couldn’t give me a courtesy car and Chrysler won’t even pay for my rental car which is completely appalling considering it’s a lease. So what am I paying for?! A car whose battery dies after 4 days? I’m seeking legal advice.

IMO, you should try a trickle charger while the Pacifica is parked at home. You can get one that plugs into the rear 12v plug. I use a trickle charger several times each week. Good trickle chargers can restore full battery function in many cases but IMO continued use is necessary. Even after the dealer replaces the batteries, you should consider a trickle charger part of the routine of owning a Pacifica. I lease also and would never own one of these vehicles out of warranty.

I am interested in purchasing a trickle charger but I am not at all familiar with such things. Would you mind sharing a link to one, just as an example? Or perhaps tell me what to search for? Thank you!
