UPDATE: 4/17/2020
This is getting a bit ridiculous! My new 2020 PACHY Limited is now showing the same MIL (Malfunction Indicator Light) as previously reported. I have notified the Service Manager at my dealership and told him I will drive it for the rest of this week to see if it goes out by itself. (not too confident that it will!) If not, I will bring it in AGAIN for the 4th time now to see if they can get it right. If they don't then I will be invoking the LEMON LAW! I haven't read out the code yet, but it's probably the exact same one as before.

UPDATE: 3/19/2020
Dealer came and picked up my new PACHY and dropped off a loaner Pacifica. This is now the third visit for this same complaint. Let's see if they can figure this out. Not that I'm going anywhere given the more important current state of affairs!

UPDATE: 3/16/2022
Yes, that's right, my new PACHY started having the same symptoms as the first time by showing a stored fault and turning on the check engine light! I just got off the phone with FCA / CC and they took down my new complaint and started a technical case. The CSR told me to wait to hear back from the case manager for the next steps. This is the third time for the same complaint! NOT happy!

Well, my brand new 2020 Pacifica hybrid is in the shop after only having it for about a month and 1200 miles! They've had it about a week and all they've been able to tell me is that it has a inverter communication fault. The check engine light was on and a couple of faults were stored. P1Cdd and U0594 codes were displayed when I plugged in my OBD II reader. They told me to bring it in. They need to check it out! Has anyone else had this issue? TIA

Thanks Alex,
They weren't able to find any cause of the CEL and just cleared the codes and told me to just drive it to "see what happens", and told me it was ready to pick up. After I picked it up I noticed that they had left all the panels open at the second row seat floor and had failed to put the carpet and my weather mats back in place. NOT confidence inspiring to say the least. I'm not satisfied with the way the visit was handled. I had to cancel a trip to Columbus for an appointment due to the car being held up in service. Beginning to have second thoughts about this purchase.

Sounds like time to find a different dealer.

I too have a brand new 2020 Pacifica Hybrid and the CEL just lit up, and it returned the same P1CDD code on my code reader. I only have 500 miles on it ! I also noticed the coolant for the hybrid electronics and battery are at the low level mark. Not sure if there is a leak or factory did not fill it to max. The engine coolant tank is at the max mark.

Alex from Chrysler Cares, any idea what is going on? I think not all dealers can service the Hybrid. Do you know what dealers around zip code 19317 and 19711 have qualified hybrid service technicians?

Alex,
The MIL light has come back on as of this past Saturday February 8th. The vehicle was plugged in, 100% charged. I have notified my dealer and waiting to get scheduled back in to have this checked out again, (second visit). Not happy. This is keeping us from having the Bruno Joey lift for my wife's mobility scooter installed as well as having the brake and accelerator pedals modified so she can drive it. VERY frustrating! Below are some photos / screenshots of the concern.

Well, it's been in the shop for the second time and over a week now. Thankfully FCA Customer Care is involved and there is a case number and the Service Manager is responding with updates. Also they have contacted Chrysler Tech support and there is a STAR case opened and they're checking two circuits related to communication signals for the hybrid charger. The MIL codes are stored, but not current and the symptom is intermittent. They are looking for two specific circuits with bad connections or wires that could be causing the MIL to stay on. Hopefully they will find a definite problem and are able to repair it! Fingers crossed! I'm tracking the car location with the U-Connect app and it was showing inside the shop for a couple of days, but now looks like it's outside in the service parking lot. Hope they don't put it on hold too long. I'm counting the days out of service!

Hi PachyPilot,
I have the same exact problem. Code P1CDD, Hybrid powertrain control module fault, intermittently cause engine MIL on. I drive a few days, light goes off, Light comes on back few days later. First time I took it to the dealer, the light went off on the way to dealer. Dealer did not do anything, just gave advice to keep driving. Now light is back on. Did you have a fix? Would you share information so I can give to dealer? Thanks.

Xiami,
Yes, my dealer found the problem and fixed it! They were able to submit a technical case with FCA and they were told it was a intermittent connection problem in possible two wiring circuits. They followed the tech support recommended procedure and found one pin in a multi-connector was not making a good connection and repaired it. No problems since! Hope this helps!

Hi PachyPilot

Chrysler gave me a case manager and case number. But cannot seem to locate the document that your dealer used to fixed your problem. Can you email me your dealer contact and you the repair order/receipt? It is probably the same issue with the harness connector. I am PM you with my contact.

I just drove my Pachy for 12 hours without without undue fatigue. Was not able to do this in my other cars on several prior trips. Seats are comfortable, wife really like the passenger seat that reclines and slides the seat bottom forward. Car is very quiet. Active Cruise Control and lane keep assist really help in long drives. Love the car.

Ouch, that sucks. Depending on what they find/fix this time I'd consider looking into (or suggesting) activating your state's lemon law while you still can.
Keep your paperwork, since depending on your state its dependent on how many times you've had to fix the same issue (ex 3+ times) and/or how many days its been at the dealer in the first year (ex 30+ days).

Hey guys looks like this was last updated 6 months ago. I bought my wife a 2020 PacHy this past July. I told her it was time to stop driving on electrical only (her commute doesn't utilize any gas consumption really) and use up the gas in the tank so we could put fresh fuel in it. Well yesterday the MIL light came on and I got the automatic email warning. It is the solid yellow version and decided to google search of course what the issue might be. Hence I stumbled into these forums and not really thrilled to see this is a common issue (still with the 2020 model year even) and there are a lot of question marks on the root cause it seems. I am hoping it will go away on it's own if we re-fuel with "fresh" fuel. But otherwise it sounds like a trip to the dealer is the only way to get it fixed and even then it doesn't sound like it is entirely known what may be causing it?

Welcome to the forums.
Please come back and post with how you make out.
I don't see 2 cases (3 with yours) making it a 'common' issue.

So I had a friend pull the ODB code. The code is listed as P0020. We reset it and it has come back on so I will need to get it serviced. While I appreciate your reply and welcoming, there are several threads about the CEL/MIL coming on ... all on brand new vehicles. Therefore you can see my concern. I have owned a lot of vehicles over the year and this is my first issue such as this. I love the car but worried about the build quality now.

Your stored code is different from the other posters above. Any new vehicle can have something jiggle loose that will cause a code and the MIL to come on. Maybe someone here can give us the cause of your specific code so we have some idea what is causing your issue.
