What's Your Average Fuel Economy (HYBRID ONLY)?

Vehicle Gauge Speedometer Measuring instrument Font

I think average fuel economy is limited to 99 based on the artificial ceiling set by Chrysler. Also not sure if it can be reset or resets with the trip odometer.
And yes I need to clean my instrument panel.

22 and a bit less. I think it's been as low as 19
Speed limits are 65 and 75 and altitude is 420 on i40 to 7000 on i40, within just two counties.

Fuel mileage was never a concern.

I think the only way to get a measure of fuel economy is to start with a full tank and empty battery. On road trips I am getting around 30 mpg.

City driving , non charged between 31-33 mpg ( with 245 50 20 orem summer tires and rims ) , around 25 -27 in winter with snow tires on ( 18 inch 235 60 18 )
We can’t really calculate gas mileage in town since most of that sort of driving is electric only. But on our road trips the van consistently gets 32-34 mpg driving the speed limit (65-70).

What does the "Energy Economy" display on yours?

It’s usually around 34 when I’m on road trips. But I’ve had it at 99 when driving around town.
By the way you can reset energy economy by holding the “OK” button down for a couple of seconds.
Summer - city/short trip driving - ~60-65MPGe.
Winter - city/short trip driving - ~35-40MPGe.
Highway - ~30MPG

This has to be a non hybrid model, correct?

That's correct, he's running the gas model only not the PACHy.
Thanks. I have been seeking a new ultimate work minivan. Mileage being pinnacle. My Odyssey gets under 20 mpg in town and touches 30mpg on long trips driven at 65mph. Is the hassle of unknown automotive failure risk offset by the gas savings? (and the astronomical prices the dealers desire for a 2021 used model hyb ltd- w/3 pane roof)?
Calculated at the pump after owning my 18 for almost 5 year 58k km, we plugged all the time:
  • 32 mpg on trips (with roof box)
  • 38 mpg city during winter (Canada, parked outside with Pitman preconditioning)
  • 106 mpg city during summer (includes part of trips)
  • 67 mpg lifetime

How do you get over the 99mpg that's displayed?

My calculations are at the pump, not what the cluster says.

How do you do that though if you are also plugging the vehicle in?

I use an app like Drivvo to keep tabs on mileage and fuel usage, like you would for a normal car.

I don't keep tabs on electricity usage, I can only estimate that since my evse doesn't record kwh.

Thanks, but that doesn't really answer the question. So your numbers posted earlier are based on ignoring the electric contribution to the economy? Kind of a worthless exercise, no?
31-32 depleted battery around town or highway doesn't seem to matter.
I think I'm getting about 3.0 miles per kWh, but that's a guessing game, based on estimating how much energy is going in.

If I don't count recharging, then I get about 200 mpg, but that's silly and just depends on your driving/charging habits.

Yeah I was hoping for screenshots of the Hybrid Energy Economy display. That's the only way to work from the same yardstick.
