Long story short, after a night of drinking, my wife decided to ignore the plastic bag I had prepared for her and puked ALL OVER the passenger side of the van... The vomit found it's way into the seams of the leather seat, and worst of all, into the crevices of the floor, in between the umbrella holder, seatbelt and under the seat.

I've cleaned as much as I visibly could, but I can't seem to go into the plastic floor covers... Can anyone teach me how to remove those plastic floor boards? The smell of red wine is still there cos I can't get into the cracks... Please help and thanks in advance!

I would first suggest investing in a trim removal kit such as this.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B009QLBDSW/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1

It's made of plastic which makes it a bit safer to use, but it also makes it less durable than metal trim removal tools. But, At the same token, just because the set is plastic doesn't mean it won't damage things if used improperly.

With that said, I'm not sure how the plastic floor covers are removed as I haven't really checked my car and it's a bit late for me to do so at the moment. If possible, can you attach a photo of the specific portion of the floor you're looking to remove? I can look at mine tomorrow to see if I can help figure it out. If it's just simple bolts or screws then that's straight forward. If it's clips, then again, the trim removal kit will come in handy. Also, plastic clips tend to be sensitive so be prepare to buy some at either your local auto parts store or the dealer if the local auto parts store doesn't carry clips for your car. For my BMWs, I would always have to get clips from the dealer. Thankfully I'm friends with a few guys at the local BMW dealership so they usually just grab good condition clips that sometimes gets tossed aside. They're cheap but dealers don't always stock clips for whatever reason.

Thanks for all the advice! I bought a trim kit from my local automotive shop and ripped everything out! Steamed, vacuumed, scrubbed, the works! Car is looking great now, the smell was still there but my wife felt pretty bad about the whole thing and bought me some Bath and Body Works auto scents (really took out the smell, car smells like a chicks car now, but at least the stench is gone).

See the pics!

Getting rid of a bad smell in van

Gound coffee (any cheap brand) in an open flat container can help get rid of smells in van. It will smell like coffee for awhile, but the coffee and the other smell should go away. Just another option.
