Went to go sign up with AT&T for the mobile hotspot for our summer vacation and the web site tells me it's no longer available for my 2018 Pacifica. Huh? I've had it maybe a half dozen times over the past 5 years. I called the number and they said they have a technical issue that has not been resolved and are no longer accepting new subscribers until it is resolved. No idea as to when that might be. I did a search here and this apparently has been going on since at least April.

So does anyone know what is going on? The service was always spotty, going all the way back to 2018. Lots of pulled fuses and various craziness to get things to work. So I guess I understand, but I'm now thinking it may never come back.

I believe the problem is their pre paid services have been discontinued. I’ve been purchasing time for my iPad for years just tried to renew and was told that services are no longer available. They said I could go to the store and sign up for $20 a month on my ipad Which would be a postpaid account but I would be able to call customer service and at any time to discontinue the program Verizon evidently has done exactly the same thing

This is interesting...I bought my 2021 Pacifica in June and signed up for the wireless hotspot. Everything was working great but I noticed mid-July that the wi-fi logo/inidcator no longer showed on the center screen and sometimes I had wifi and someties I didn't. Maybe once the problem is fixed the wifi logo will reappear on the center screen?

I just spoke with a service advisor at my Jeep dealership and he said the issue is that with the Stellantis takeover of FCA, they are changing carriers. AT&T will no longer be the carrier for Chrysler vehicles and he thinks they are going with T Mobile. They will definitely get it back up and running but now sure when.

maybe this is why no one can answer my questions about wifi in my 21 Pacifica tour L. (Bought new)I’ve gone to three different dealerships and they look at me like I’m nuts
If they do go with T-Mobile, we’ll be going to **** in a hand basket with the service end. Where I live in Mississippi you have to drive around town and look for a signal to make a call among other tasks. My son had Sprint, no problems. Sprint joined hands with T-Mobile now he has to tour the town to look for a signal.

Is it possible to connect the WiFi hotspot to a different service provider other than AT&T? Like Verizon or something? How can they make it ONLY through AT&T?? I understand how they can advertise it with each other as a commercial. Is it possible?

I doubt it. The service was originally planned with ATT and therefore I’m guessing the hardware will only work with them. Verizon uses a different technology for its services if I’m not mistaken.

Hello,

There is a software update for this concern, should you wish to discuss this further, please send us a PM.

I'll do it without a PM.. It's version 40.1 but if you don't have the previous versions most dealers will charge per update. On a 2018 there are like 4 updates now if you didn't get anymore OTA's and were stuck where I was. Should also say for some reason they will not simply upload the updates to their website. They force you to a dealer even though they are SUPPOSED to be OTA. The OTA's never come. There is a class action lawsuit because they never updated people's uconnect and it's incredibly buggy where they could easily solve all this if they fixed the OTA system or just publicly posted the updates like every other car manufacturer.

Thank you for the info. Will look into the class action lawsuit. i am/was beginning to to believe I live in a perfect world. we bought the van, a2021 Pacifica touring L S packag, the players on back of front seats for the grandkids , usb ports, Uconnect, everything that told me that we had wi-fi. The rest of story is in my original letter I wrote here on the forum. Thanks for answering. I just saw your comment. I had stopped looking for replies until tonight and found an email from the forum.

Yeah. I never got any updates. Besides my radio unit was replaced under warranty last year. I’d assume even if there were any updates that would’ve gone with the unit. I would definitely need to set up a dealership visit. I will likely do it during my next service visit. Many thanks for your information.

Another thing I guess I should mention is to make sure your radio was properly paired to chrysler.. I just found out on my replacement that might not be the case. My mopar account has disassociated with me and I can't see my extended warranties, service visits, miles, or anything. When I call chrysler they don't recognize my # to my vin so they have to ask all that info as well. Dealer so far doesn't want to make it right either even though they were the ones who installed it.

I see. I’m in the same situation I guess. My Mopar account doesn’t specifically show that information either. I’m assuming if the radio unit is not paired to their company account then OTAs are out of question. So if the dealership won’t fix it, who is going to do that? Would @ChryslerCares help with that?

Dealership is the only one who can fix it supposedly but I find that hard to believe. I assume it's just updating a serial in a database frankly.

Hi Bond007,

We're happy to look into it for you. Please send us a PM with your VIN and further details about your Mopar account to get started.
