I just checked the website and I have two Uconnect updates to apply. I just got the car in September, so one pre-dates the delivery... I know I can download them to a USB drive to install, but do I have to do both (one after the other) or can I just do the most recent one?

Update 1:
UCONNECT_RHH_17.32.14_RU_MY17
SERVICE BULLETIN ID: 08-087-17
RELEASE DATE: 2017-08-24

Update 2:
UCONNECT_8.4AN_RA4_17.11.07_MY17
SERVICE BULLETIN ID: 08-053-17_REV.B
RELEASE DATE: 2017-09-15

UCONNECT_8.4AN_RA4_17.11.07_MY17 looks to be the same version released over the air. Hopefully the REV.B is the revision that does not have the "brick your unit" feature.

My van received the update OTA (successfully), and when I tried loading this update via USB it prompted if I wanted to reinstall.

Hi konnerbllb,

Did you want to know about the OTA update?

Hi MLambert,

The first bulletin is a TSB for the following:

"NUMBER: 0808717
GROUP: 08 Electrical
DATE: September 21, 2017

SUBJECT:
Miracast Software Update Available
OVERVIEW:
This information only bulletin discusses the availability of MiracastT which has been added to the
Video Routing Module (VRM) through a software update.
MODELS:
2017 (RU) Chrysler Pacifica

Miracast is screenmirroring
software that lets you broadcast anything from an AndroidT device or
recent IntelT computer to your TV. Whatever you see on the connected device will appear on the
radios monitor, making it ideal for watching videos. Phones and tablets with Android 4.2 Jelly Bean
or later have access to Miracast, as do most modern Windows PCs with Intel chips. This info only
bulletin is to inform the dealer and customers what this software update does and that it is
available. The software is being released to allow customers to enhance functionality of Uconnect
theater for customer satisfaction."

Please note, if you have this performed at the dealership, they will charge for it, as they cannot perform it under warranty. You do not need to download this update to download the OTA update.

Thanks Kori. Any idea how we apply this update if the dealers are going to charge for it? It's listed on the Uconnect site as an available update, but I don't see any way to actually download it.

Updated mine. 16.XX.XX to 17.XX.XX

Downloaded the file. Extracted the zip file to clean USB drive. Started the van. Checked version, was 16.XX.XX so I proceded. Put USB drive in, pick media, then USB and voila. Updated in about 20 minutes. Keep van running. A lot safer.0:)

Very good. (you wouldn't have had to "pick media" by the way)

I noticed that UCONNECT_8.4AN_RA4_17.11.07_MY17_RU was updated to a REV C. I wish they published change logs...

Not that I disagree that it would be nice to see change logs, but note that your image says the Service Bulletin was updated to Rev. C, not the software build. My guess is that they may have been revising the service bulletin either to change from "no fix available" to "use this version of software", or they may have simply been revising which software to load to try to address issues by updating the bulletin to point to the latest version..

Hi thunder3dan,

At this time we do not have an ETA for when the Miracast update will be available for customer download. We are looking into this further and as soon as we have more information we will post it here!

Hi everyone,

Anyone who can see that the Miracast update applies to their vehicle on driveuconnect.com and cannot download it please send us a PM with your VIN so I can pass them along to Uconnect. Please put "Miracast" in the subject line so we know what it is regarding, thank you!

Successful update done by the dealer

After seeing all the posts describing problems and issues with the Uconnect update I took my 2017 Pacifica Limited into the dealer to have the update performed. They ended up performing the OTA update and it has worked fine after that. I strongly recommend this approach since, if anything does go awry, any problems can be resolved by the dealer in one single trip. Kudos again to Bill Bryan Chrysler in Fruitland Park FL for their great service.

Did they apply the Uconnect Theater update that adds Miracast functionality?

I just downloaded the file and installed it with a USB drive. Very easy. I also do not have a dvd.

Thank you @seo68 for outlining how to send us a PM! DJRTRIM please follow the steps in their post to reach out to us for further assistance.

@DJRTRIM , a PM is a private message - so that they can discuss your issues with you in a non-public forum. To send @ChryslerCares a private message just left-click on their handle in one of their posts and select "Send a private message to ChryslerCares" from the pull down menu that opens when you click.

Alternatively, you can click on @ChryslerCares handle in this post and it will open up their member page that has a "Send Message" button. Click it and select "Send a private message to ChryslerCares" and type your message there.

Yup, it looks like both updates are available to download now.

One thing to note is that the flash drive you use for the Uconnect Theater update needs to go into the USB port on the Blu-ray drive, not the one above it.

Finally installed the "missing" update yesterday after some confusion.

First mistake made: expected the installation confirmation message to appear in the front console, whereas the message kept appearing on the rear screens. Figured out when my son came out to help on second try (in between I reformatted the thumb drive, removed its name and all the mess after spending quite some time on a disappointing first try).

Second mistake: Since we were about to leave for a drive, skipped installation when we finally figured out how it works. On coming back, plugged the drive back to the USB port (near the DVD) rushed to second row (car seat behind driver, so all the way around).... Nada, nothing...

Third mistake: Oops, had the DVD inside, ejected it out, plugged the USB in.. Nothing.. "Defeat is a state of mind; no one is ever defeated until defeat has been accepted as a reality." - Bruce Lee... Determined to make it work, switched off the vehicle and uconnect (opened the front door) sitting in the second row (is not as difficult as it sounds) and restarted. After a couple of tries the message popped up on the screen. Pressed the accept button. Smooth and simple from there and it took around 30 mins for the entire installation to complete.

P.S. the instruction manual provided in the site is an old one, the step to verify the version installed says you don't need to proceed if installed version is 164610. This is incorrect we are installing 17something version.

The streaming option is now available under the input selections but did not get a chance to try it out since it was getting late. Hope this post helps.

Thank you. Giving it a go now and couldn't get 17.32.14_RU_MY17 to install. Other worked flawless.

UPDATE: worked as advertised! All I had to do, while in the back, is reinsert the thumb drive. Instantly the update came up.

Thanks again.

Just a question here. I noticed that a lot of you are downloading these updates on USB drives. I've also seen a few comments about Over-The_air (OTA) updates. My question is, can we update the Uconnect OTA or do we have to go to a website to download and install the update?

Thanks.

I believe that Chrysler has pulled the OTA update for the Pacifica since it was causing issues for some people. It's pretty painless via USB.

Does ota updated both the front radio and the rear screens?
The OTA update was just for the main Uconnect system, not Uconnect Theater. You'll have to do Uconnect Theater via USB.
